LOL.

as long as the sun is out, it's fine i guess. but that's certainly the opposite of torch...especially for most of us east of the CT river.

With full sunshine, I'll go above guidance and say mid 80s here.

lol, he is right to an extent though. I think BOX had 67F for ORH yesterday and they hit 72F. They had 69F for me and I hit 74F. It does happen on sunny days in May quite often.

I'm still waiting for my 70-75 over the weekend he promised.

CAPE is pathetic but maybe there's enough instability to give a 35 knot gust and a Ham radio report of a limb down on a sidewalk.

Yeah maybe a termite infested tree limb that would normally fall when a blue jay lands on it....can get reported.

It's really blocky, but it doesn't look all that terrible imo. The pattern seems prone to perhaps a cstl storm nearby so we'll have to watch out for that.

It might be wrist-slitter material D8-9 with having that retrograding low scraping the eastern half of SNE with light stratiform precip and NNE winds.

I don't consider 0-2C 850s with a Nor'easter passing nearby such great weather for mid-May. 12z ECM has -4C 850s down to Southern Maine at Day 7, definitely a well below average pattern and probably rainy/snowy as well.

it probably won't end up all that terrible in terms of sensible weather if recent history is to be considered.

it's just not a beautiful mid-may weather pattern.

considering we are getting to the time of year when 75-80F becomes a reasonable expectation now and then away from the shore, low 60s isn't great.

Well like Will said...it will be toaster material of the storms gets close enough (which we are probably due for), but I mean this time of year with a high sun angle...you could get into the 60s to even near 70 with 850 temps near 0C. Even here with a ne wind...it's really not bad if the sun is out. I don't want 80+ right now.

2009 was epic like that. We did have a couple 80F days in May but then failed to hit it during meteorological summer until like July 23rd or something.

The end of April had an 88F and a 90F here. Then there were a couple of 80s to end May and one 80F+ in June. Then through 7/25 there was only one 80F+ in July. As it turned out, my high temp for 2009 was that 90F (89.8F) day on 4/28 which came off of a low in the 40s...pretty epic. lol

This was the first April since I've moved here without an 80F+ in April although we got close on 4/27 with 78.8F. If the 12z EC is correct I'll be waiting until at least May 15.

There's a lot of Aprils that don't hit 80F here though recently there's been a string of them that have. We snuck one day in this year.

No way you hit 95F in April '09. ORH didn't even hit 90F. You might be thinking of last May's amazing heat where we hit mid 90s. (hottest May temp ever recorded at ORH)
