ORH_wxman
Is there thunder in the rain across CT? There should be as lightning data has plenty of CG strikes in E CT.
ORH_wxman
Damn that really heavy rain is barely missing me west. Was hoping for some nice downpours to make the rest of the night semi-exciting for weather....at least as much as it can be in this absolutely brutally terrible time of the year for exciting weather. Guess I will have to live with light steady rain for a bit, then back to sheet drizzle that doesn't show up on radar and temps in the 40s.
H2Otown_WX
Pouring here in Waterbury. Even got a flash of lightning as well.

ORH_wxman
You are getting hammered int he Waterbury area. I'm jealous. Thank god this isn't a snow setup otherwise I'd be hanging myself. But winter setups rarely have this type of precip shield. I'm about to get clipped by a developing batch of moderate rain...but I wish I would have gotten the heavy rain with embedded thunderstorms. ORH_wxman
This fog is awful. NE wind at 15 knots and 46F. I thought I was supposed to have sweltering nights with high dewpoints and sub-tropical airmass? I must have trusted Kevin too much on that one. Either that or I made the horrific amateur mistake of believing the GFS over the Euro/NAM in a CAD setup.

And you already know the NAM and EURO are superior in CAD event's. I almost fell for it too , thinking i might need the A/C if the TD = 60F or higher. Heavy drizzle and 1/2 mile in FG now.. 46F Wind 050 at 12 gust

ORH_wxman
I just won't believe that we can get 2-3 days straight of 40s/50s in mid May, I just won't believe it.

Lol, yeah don't worry Will. This would never happen in the winter unless it was some sort of weird Snowicane redux that tracked a little farther east. Rain has now shut off for the time being. Picked up a quick half-inch.

free_man
It's a very nice morning once again. Temp near 50 and cloudy, some fog. Perfect for doing yardwork, ideal mid-May weather as we look forward to burning in hell for a month or two.
dan11295
Radar estimates of 3-4" in E. CT since Sunday. Obs at IJD and WST confirm that. Next small batch looks to head a bit east of there mostly. might get ORH.
Mr Torchey
Blizzinator for the win in regards to the rain east as eastern ct got owned. Boswxnipplage for the loss. Chemical Ali strikes again. I have never seen a precip shield so fragmented and disorganized ever, if this was snow, mass suicides!

Mr Torchey
half way there. LOL. best spring ever. another big slug of water moving toward CT. iT Truly is the best spring ever down here, only one cloudy day in the first 15 of may, temps well above normal in april and through the first two weeks of May, now wonderful delightful liquid gold from the heavens!!!!!!!! To top it off, we get sunny and warm starting this weekend into the Memorial Day Weekend, just absolute perfection! Now, up towards the "real" southern New England...........well, the last few days have been absolute misery Wills high temp yesterday was 12 degrees cooler than my low last night, slit your wrist type stuff, but, thats the price you pay for the big snows in winter!!!! Mr Torchey
1.26 of rain yesterday , still below an inch and a half for the entire event at BDR, while its been a nice gentle soaking for the last 3 days, certainly nothing out of the ordinary............... Mr Torchey
Today will be a positive day temps wise here, normal low is 51, not even close last night, but we all know overnight lows has been whats driven monthly averages up, and that theme continues until this weekend/
Tropopause_Fold
Plants and continued leafout will absolutely explode once the sun comes out. i keep thinking about that. everything is so freaking green already and the damp ground and gray skies just makes it more noticeable.
