The radiational cooling is insane out there; even with 850s near 20C, we'd drop into the 40s at night. One thing that shocked me is how high 850mb temperatures get in Montana...20C would produce an average day in the 70s during mid-summer, and even when we got close to 30C, temperatures would only be near 80-85F. All that heat cooking in the Sonoran desert can bring some really high 850s into MT, >30C commonly, not something you'd ever see in the East. We had an unusually cold June when I was there last summer, and the 998mb low on June 16th blasted the 10C line out of there with a few bubbles of 0C around. We were all rain at 4600' during the day with temps around 39F, but snow/sleet began to mix in at night....I'd say the snow line for accumulations was around 6000', with over a foot falling in the really high peaks at 8k/9k.

850mb is near the surface or underground in a lot of that region...so obviously the 850s are going to be modeled very warm out there during hot spells. It's really not even worth looking at.

6 months until realistic snow threats. This is easily the worst time of the year. Months of weather hell coming up.

I was just thinking that earlier. Maybe......maybe we can have a decent severe setup or two, but certainly not holding out much hope.

Not a chance here. Bad enough I have to burn $3.69 oil just for hot water.

Thermostats are set at 60F. Throw on a sweatshirt:

The boiler is shutdown and drained on May 1st regardless of the weather. I usually try to keep it shutdown until Oct 1st but some years I fire it up in late Sept. This weather is not cold enough for heat. My God.

We had some beefy expensive hot water thing installed a few years ago to replace the boilerless one that was part of our furnace. It kept getting buildups that would destroy the coil due to minerals in the water.

Still requires the furnace to heat the water, but then this new system keeps it hot longer/in greater volume, so the furnace runs less often... or something...

We had out oil tank filled a few weeks ago and it should last into late Sept./Oct regardless. I am loving this cool weather. Wife hates it. I think Wachusett is finally snowless. It still had a little this weekend.

Not good. They smell fear. Be confident and self assured, you're a smart guy and probably speak well, use it.

Ray, how's it going? Well I hope.

Truer words have never been written....physical appearence is overrated and that is underrated relative to the world of dating.

Ehh....I'm doin' all right, Pete...

Knowing the history of Seattle, WA is also a plus I hear.

self-confidence is attractive, and just an overall sense "got-their-****-together" will often trump physical attraction...or it creates physical attraction where perhaps in the beginning there wasn't any...

anway, have i mentioned that i believe this weather pattern blows donkey cojones?
