Lol....guess you didn't look at the 00z Euro when you made this post.

we'll see how the week shakes out, but it has a shot at being one of the - if not the most - ugliest stretches of weather we've seen here in SNE for quite some time. last week was brutal out here but was very nice for some of the area. i'm trying to think back to a stretch that would mirror this...i think you have to go back almost two years to june 09.

hopefully some of the lulls in the steadier precip are accompanied by some drying / glimpses of sun but i'm not optimistic about that right now. pattern recognition would say i might have the best shot at that kind of thing out here as i don't remain firmly entrenched in ENE flow like most of the area does.

Yeah I wouldn't be totally shocked if a few breaks rotate in off the water of all places, thanks to the ridging that develops. I'm hoping it's not a complete disaster, but it looks crappy to say the least.

yeah that's the hope...an 18 to 24 hour break sometime mid-week as the feed focuses SW and we get a slight taste of some ridging there. we'll see i guess.

either way...i'm sure there will be an axis of nice weather that runs from NE CT to SW CT that will be 74-81F each day with plenty of sun and very little rain or drizzle.

Yeah....strange how that works out. Hmmm.

LOL. doom and gloom.

every piece of guidance is horrendous...and they just take turns painting the worst case scenario. i think the 00z cmc might have been the worst of the overnight runs.

At least I'm not in the max qpf (funny comment earlier, Dave). Kevin on the hand better hope his Lesco feed and seed has allowed for well anchored roots.

Right in downtown Worcester by the dcu center theres a dirt/snow pile left. Pretty crazy for mid may.

I'm surprised that's still there. I think I know which one you are talking about. It was next to the parking garage. I saw it about 3 weeks ago and it was still decently big, but I figured it would be gone by now.

some pretty bad flooding seems possible somewhere!! flood.gif

Ground should be able to suck up quite a bit of moisture so unless there's a really high bullseye somewhere, my guess is most flooding would be stuff like small streams and such...not a big issue. But we just don't know until we get closer about little mesoscale bullseyes. On the whole, I think this rain should be beneficial.

Sorry..but it's not going to be in the 40's and 50's for 6-7 straight days with rain everyday and east flow. There's a nice southerly component to the flow as we get to midweek..There will be plenty of dry periods with at least partly sunny conditions. An ULL well to our SW does not equate to raw e/ne flow.

LOL - no one said 40s and 50s for 6-7 straight days.

Yeah there could def be a day or two in there where it might not rain much and if that happens, then you get a mostly cloudy 63F day...but its difficult to be optimistic with a generally E flow. There's definitely no deep southerly flow on the Euro after tomorrow...only the south coast might get into any south flow off the water...its a nasty week for everyone else.

I would bet we have at least 2 days where the sun comes out and we get 65-70ish..at least south of pike. Just way to much pessimism in some circles on here. Not that it's a nice week at all...just not nearly as miserable as some are locking
