It didn't cost that much to put in central air here so we did it..... In 2009 I used it for three days LOL and last year in the hot summer we used it about 21 days. The breeze almost always cools things so nicely that most days I would shut it off before bed and just open the windows....several ridiculous humid days excepted.

This was a top 5 week here...wall to wall nice wx all week and perfect temps.

Air conditioning? The 12z ECM shows temperatures in the 50s and 60s next week; that doesn't feel uncomfortable even if it's humid. Humidity really doesn't become noticeable to me unless it's 75+, otherwise it just seems like cool rain. We're way south of you guys, and my parents haven't even thought of installing the AC yet....I think we put them in during early May last year with all the heat, but considering that no model shows much in the way of sustained hot temperatures, we'll probably wait until June this year. I love just having the screen door and windows open all the time, absolutely gorgeous.

Amazing how strong the west-east gradient has been. Central Park is +1.2F for May; Bridgeport is +1.4F...to me this has been an idyllic May with comfortably warm days, constant sunshine, and crisp nights. Although April wasn't great, May has been delightful in these parts, and I've been out in the garden planting or out in the nature preserve running almost every day after work. Great times!

Yeah, that's been pretty much the summary over this way. Sunny with a high in the lower 70s in the valley and upper 50s in the upper elevations... relative humidity around 30% during the afternoons and large diurnal swings in temperatures with a couple frosts/freezes in the elevations. Amazing how different its been for the eastern areas, hoping you guys see some good weather soon. Today was another good one up this way.

We got down to 35 a couple times this week (Tues/Wed), but no frost. It was more optimal for frost given the ridge position in Central NY. Quite a bit of frost there this week.

Looks dry Saturday anyway so I can finally cut the rest of the lawn that was so wet..... This dry week finally got rid of most of the mud.

First I have to take a pic of my beautiful dandelion covered lawn....so I can show Kevin the beauty of wild flora.

weekend call................

SNEAKY nice, variable skies, perhaps a late day shower Sunday.

After this crappy several days coming up this week once the next west coast trough ejects through the country perhaps we can get into a pattern more favorable for severe wx chances here...probably sometime during the final week of May...perfect timing b/c that's when my friend will be coming down.

Despite the Euro backing off HPC balls to the wall on rain. Says GINX had better find 80 animals, and load them onto the house/stilt boat

IT IS EXPECTED TO BE A WET PATTERN

ACROSS THE MID-ATLANTIC STATES AND SOUTHERN NEW ENGLAND...WITH 3-6

INCHES OF RAIN EXPECTED ACROSS THE REGION AND LOCAL AMOUNTS OF 10

INCHES POSSIBLE.

 yeah saw that this morning. i don't doubt those numbers somewhere.

it's going to be a challenging week. some of the period probably ends up OK - at least for some of us. just virtually impossible to know when that is. might also be, like you mentioned earlier in the week, a case where eastern areas end up nicer than western areas at times. tough to say right now.

My thinking is the heaviest rain ends up to our north and west..Probably over NY state and NNE

We'll get soaked earlier in the week, but it will probably depend on where that narrow sub-tropical plume of +RA sets up later in the week. It might get pulled west for a day or two, before moving east over us.
