Are they the yellow or red maples?

Oak leaves just starting to peak out here. We're about a week behind the valley where everything is just about fully out

it's weird...maybe it happens every year i don't know...but i think i'm actually ahead of you out here. i noticed in those lawn photos you posted last week too. our maples are probably like 75 to 80% done and most of the oaks all have those small light green leaves now...some still have that reddish orange hue but a lot are now leafing out.

They're those Norwegian Maples I think, but I've never seen these weird green things. Perhaps I just never noticed them before. Anyways, it's a mess and I'm pissed. Everything is coated green.

The oaks are also a week or so behind in the burbs as compared to the city. I have those yellowish green leaves right now, while up in this area and even down at my parents, the leaves are just poking out giving that yellowish tinge look to the crown of those oaks.

LOL, it's true...and the funny thing is that we all understand what each one of us is saying when describing these things.

I also think as compared to many springs that I remember, we're a little ahead of the game in terms of green-up.

Good Morning Southern New England (even though phil says living in Fairfield ct is not new england)

AS expected, nothing but wall to wall sunshine and 70 temps for all except se mass and the cape, probably the BEST weather week of the entire year!

Yeah sounds like you're def. ahead of me. The maples aren't even fully out yet. I think since it was warmer out your way in March and early April...it helped get you going sooner. Cooler daytime highs

The birch trees have huge numbers of blossoms (flowers, or whatever). Don't remember seeing so many. They are loaded with pollen. When I was doing yardwork this weekend I brushed up against some and a yellow cloud formed.

Maples coming along, oaks lagging as usual. Can't wait for that pollen :gun_bandana:

Gorgeous outside today. Nice breeze, Tip's cerrulean skies, not too warm, dry.

Depends on the maples too. I noticed those stupid maples that I have are leafed out, but the yellow and red maples are still just getting their leaves. Around my area though, things are defintely ahead of most places.

Sometimes it's a plus to live in primarily fields. I have a nice hardwood forest out back, but it's 1500 feet away from the house. :) Looks like a nice sunny day out there so far.

downslope city as expected, very dry.

Could use a little rain this week, not going to happen here though, congrats to the cape on the liquid gold

I'd love to wash away some of this pollen-who would have thunk that we'd go so dry after all those wet nasty days of March and April...
