Joe has had a bubble of warm tropical air over him for a while. April and cxertainly May so far have seemed cool , or at least normal here.

Maybe its been cool, but thats climo. Probably at or above normal the last month for you. Youve had plenty of 60s this year, tomorrow for example, you will probably hit 63-64,

while your average is probably around 60F at this point.

Pete, its not like im bullshidding you, it is what it is look at the obs from my area all day, it was partly to mostly sunny with temps in the mid 60's........this is getting old fast. My climate in SW ct is obviously different from powderfreak and from you, its colder up there, it snows in the mts, big deal. Down here it was a beautiful day, or should i Just say, JEEZ today was mostly sunny and mid 60's THAT REALLY SUCKS AZZ?

Cant we all just understand that climo is different around New England and enjoy that?

I am happy that powder freak got his snow, thats what he loves this time of year, for me I like sun and mild temps, not only is it enjoyable but fantastic for my business, I am sorry it was cloudy with rain and cold, but thats what you like, so I guess I am happy for you.

I wasn't giving you sh*t Joe, I know it's been balmy down there. Unlike Kevin, I don't question honest people's obs. I figure if folks are interested enough in the weather to post here they are probably going to be objective in their reports. I have never doubted your obs and am only astonished in how different the weather can be in a relatively small geographic area. It does snow in the MTS and that's why I reside in a mountainous area. However, it was nice on the 11th hole when the warm May sun came out for about 34 seconds before the graupel and wind driven rain resumed.lol Go out to the firepit, attitude adjust and relax. It's all good.

Man looks like we lucked out down here again, from the obs looked like it was miserable north of the south coast, that stinks, still 62 under partly sunny skies down here at 715 pm.

Going to light a fire tonight, gonna be chilly! Forecast low is 45, unbelievable that I have not had a single reading at freezing since March, all of april above freezing at night, really unheard of.

Tomatoes look GREAT!! Zucchini has germinated as well as Yellow Squash, basil and rosemary lagging behind, they like it hot and dry as do most herbs.

High of 64.5F here in Dobbs Ferry, currently 49F with clear skies...expecting a low near 40F by dawn, chilly for early May.

As for the garden, glad to hear the good news! My tomatoes all look great, especially the Lemon Boy hybrid...I have two types of heirloom tomatoes that I have raised from seed inside since April 1st, and they are ready to be planted tomorrow....one is called Dr. Wyche's Yellow and another is called Moonglow. My squashes, including zucchini, small pumpkins, and yellow crookneck summer squash have all germinated...melons are also getting going. I have Apollo Arugula which is about ready to harvest, looks delicious, was planted April 10th and should be ready to pick within the next week. I will also be receiving a few seedlings in the mail from Seed Savers Exchange to complete the garden...here are some photos:

Gigantic Ancho Chile:

Lemon Drop cherry tomato:

Cherokee Purple heirloom tomato:

Rosemary does like it very dry, but make sure to give the basil a lot of water during heat waves. It loves the warmth but also needs a fairly constant supply of moisture, unlike rosemary. I am noticing that the herbs and tomatoes are growing a bit slowly this spring due to the lack of hot days; despite temperatures being near average, we haven't had any really torch days this year.

Was nice working outside today.. looks like there was a big N/S contrast in the weather today. Really cleared out late afternoon/evening here which made for a great time to be outside. I've been holding off on planting the last few things in my garden until after the clouds early this week and the cold tonight. Looks like we're in the clear from here on out so everything else is going in Friday and Sat.

West wind between 7 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 44. Northwest wind between 7 and 10 mph becoming calm.

Sunday: A slight chance of showers after 9am. Partly sunny, with a high near 69. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 42.

yeah nice out there.

had a pretty cool shower rip through around 7PM or so last night. sky got black and the wind howled for about a minute or two...would've thought a good t-storm was about to roll in.

Some nice cells down that way last night. I know some people that had hail with those.

Hopefully you hit with something similar in the summer...only with 60 DBZs and tops about 30,000' higher.

it';s well east of where it was yesterday and we'd have nice weather in central and wne

Like Phil said, it might be hard to escape the cutoff disaster completely with this blocky pattern. It's almost luck if all you see is just some ne winds and that's it.Of course it's a little different in downslope areas of Tolland and points west.

Interesting...warm signals erupting for mid month.

Out of know where the PNA splits with half the members going significantly negative in tandem with a rising NAO. The cluster of the ECM is also out of sync and more demonstrative of this than the GFS'.

Spectacular 2-d blessing underway. 70F today in backyards with cerulean blue skies and winds tending to drop off as high nears... schoosh tomorrow with some towering cus forflavor

Look like we're headed into an extended above normal regime from here on out
