The WFAA met in the chopper clearly has no idea what she is doing. Tornado on ground and they go to the heli cam and they are busy reporting no tornado but mild rotation whilst looking at the inflow region. Pan left and there's a nice Clear slot in the distance and they go back to the inflow region.

Earlier, they were looking at scud on the very high based flanking line whilst in the distance a rotating wall cloud was low to the ground and they made no comment... Drives me mad!

Glad they went to Andy's stream. He's got at least a large funnel, maybe a tornado.

Some of the anvil tops on these supercells in TX are actually progressing against the low level inflow--suggestive of just how much curvature there is in the wind fields. Amazing.

Take a look at the gravity waves over the Red River. It seems every time a major severe weather outbreak occurs, there is a large area of such a feature.

Agree with you there, I'm sure it will pick up soon with the LLJ strengthening as we head towards sunset and overnight.

Yeah, low-lvl windfields are still a bit too weak right now for significant tornadoes. I have seen this problem with stalled out quasistationary boundaries where winds at ~925mb halt and back invof the deep boundary (remember May 1 from last year?). As nocturnal influences come in this will likely change.

Nasty cell moved through 30 minutes ago, with some quarter size hail. They sent us to the basement here again for a tornado, but that is to our east and not of concern to the SE side of Grand Rapids.

That's a very nice supercell, especially by Michigan standards. At the very least it's putting down significant hail I'm sure.
