Seems like just a big rainy mess up here

We are in a PDS tornado watch

Lot of hailers in west KY earlier - few reports of wall clouds. Cells kept trying to produce but struggled. Couple of odd and end reports of possible tornadoes and funnel clouds.

Not much different down here. We've had a few things happen but we're not seeing anything that would verify as High Risk. We've got a lot more warnings than anything...the Batesville/Holly Springs areas excepted.

Looks like a lot of people overestimated today's event... but that is convection for you. :) Regardless the High was warranted.

Consider yourselves lucky it wasn't worse.

Although we might be lucky...I'm not sure that the flooding potential might not end up being worse overall than the severe threat we were facing. It's looking like we're getting a whole lot of rainfall.

So what happened up here in Ind to Ohio to Michigan? Simply moisture being robbed from the southern low?

With the loss of daytime heating, instability has weakened. However, there is some forcing that will move north toward the Great Lakes overnight and likely kick off some more convection that could be severe.

FYI, we have a relatively nice super cell heading northeast into Central KY

SPC is certainly not letting their guard down with issuance of that new PDS tor watch for LA and MS overnight. With parameters as they currently are and expected increase in the LLJ plus earlier modeling that showed tonight to be especially dangerous in that region they may be right on target even if tors may have underachieved expectations so far.

A PDS at night...geez bad timing. I hope it's a Busts!

Our replacement watch is not PDS. Seems like a run-of-the-mill CYA watch now. Doubt that there's anything more than a weak spin-up tornado of the EF0 or EF1 variety that we see quite frequently...so I think I'll catch some sleep.

DId you see the NAM

Thoughts?

I am running on 0 in the tank.

Seems like NAM is so far south. GFS is further north. I don't know. HOPING the threat is east of here and we can go back to normal here.

EOC is now open twenty four - seven. Need a break from the big rains.

At this point I am hoping SPC is wrong and the risk is shunted east and south. But - you prob don't want that :)

The northern part is definitely trickier. I'm just gonna wait to see what it looks like in the morning, although I expect the worst of it to be to the south and east.
