My fire department just got a dispatch for any available members to standbye, in my 8 years on, this has never happened before.

After what North Flushing and Bayside, Queens experienced last year, during the 2 separate tornados and the 125mph macroburst, I really hope these storms die out, before they get here.

it's actually not that impressive for this area. I've seen nicer looking couplets in the tri state.

Any svr reports from this thing?

He exagerates everything. Every storm is day after tomorrow, and in a minute he will post about his fire unit evacuating his town, oh wait, he already did that.

the line is dying as it approaches the marine layer, you won't see anything like that. Heavy rain, some wind.

Yeah seriously. Did people forget the tornados and the massive macroburst that nailed Queens and parts of Brooklyn last year? Those storms had much better looks to them and I doubt anyone here will ever see anything like that again, in our lifetime.

I haven't been following weather this closely for very long, so yes I would say its the most impressive I've ever seen, at least for a storm which is directly affecting me.

HELLO? Last year had 2 separate tornado warnings for NYC. And 3 confirmed tornados. And then throw on top of that a 125mph macroburst that covered dozens of miles.

lol you're dense. The EAS gets activated for every tornado warning.

Got the radio on here, not a sound or word about anything other than business as usual. I bet if my TV was on, it wouldn't be showing the warning either unless I was on TWC or a local station. Down south you could be watching Cinemax and the warning still shows up and its all over the radio.

That storm was unreal. When it passed over Manhattan it wasn't as bad as y'all got, but it turned black and the street lights came on (this is at like 5pm). Freaky.

You need to relax. Next you'll be pissed that the NWS didn't go door to door to personally warn you.

Complain to your cable company then... it's their decision what to broadcast.

Rotation seems to be much broader now on OKX and DIX.

Great coverage on Fox 5 right now

Yes, watching that. NIcely done.

Very impressed with those two cells in Jersey. That area was my target zone and a little concerned we may get it to move east as sun is breaking out around nyc metro. Will it be enough to really destabalize is the question.
