Riptide
This is pretty interesting, a deformation snow band moved right over my backyard. The radar is really impressive, how could anyone escape without at least a dusting? Currently light snow/

PHILADELPHIA 837 AM EST MON DEC 13 2010 ...A PERIOD OF SNOW AND SLEET THIS MORNING... SNOW MIXED WITH SLEET AT TIMES WAS MOVING NORTHEAST FROM NORTHEASTERN MARYLAND AND NORTHERN DELAWARE INTO SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA AND TOWARD WESTERN NEW JERSEY THIS MORNING. TEMPERATURES AT MANY LOCATIONS WERE ABOVE THE FREEZING MARK, AND IN THOSE PLACES ACCUMULATIONS OF AROUND AN INCH WOULD BE CONFINED MAINLY TO GRASSY SURFACES. THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS OF CECIL, CHESTER, MONTGOMERY, BUCKS, HUNTERDON AND WARREN COUNTIES MAY BE COLD ENOUGH TO SEE UP TO AN INCH OF ACCUMULATION OF ROADS, ALTHOUGH THE RECENT WARM TEMPERATURES MAY MITIGATE THAT. EXPECT SNOW TO END FROM SOUTHWEST TO NORTHEAST DURING THE COURSE OF THE ENTIRE MORNING. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY THIS MORNING. SLOW DOWN WHEN DRIVING ON SLICK OR SNOW COVERED ROADS, ESPECIALLY ON BRIDGES AND OTHER ELEVATED SURFACES. TRY TO LEAVE AS MUCH ROOM AS POSSIBLE BETWEEN YOURSELF AND OTHERS. $$ MPD/GORSE

Grothar
That seemed like one of those old wives' tales. Just from following weather and climate, I would bet that snow is more likely in Dec after a 60 degree day somewhere like Denver or Elko. What do you have to say now?
