Analog96
0.76" on the day so far + a few hundreths last night. 58.4° out now, down from a high of 59.0° about 20 mins ago. Max wind gust today to 26 mph too. That must've happened while I was asleep, since 26 on my PWS usually equates to 30-40 in real life. Anyone else have some good gusts? 35 MPH

Rainshadow
It wouldn't surprise me temps held around 40 for part of the day before falling back in the PM as CAA takes over. The GFS was really aggressive with that cold front (no surprise) for a while. Also, big time bust on the GFS and NAM on temperatures -- it's 60 at PHL. Nothing like a one day torch to screw up the departures for the month. Isn't that the way alot of winter months seem to go? I have to send flowers to 12/1 & today or my December analog mean would be alot worse that it already looks like its going to be.

famartin
History runs that a 60 degree day in December leads to a philly snow fall the next day. The backside of this storm may wallop us with three inches of snow for everyone. The energy of this storm is surprising with the convection already and the heavy downpours this morning. Grothar
That seemed like one of those old wives' tales. Just from following weather and climate, I would bet that snow is more likely in Dec after a 60 degree day somewhere like Denver or Elko. You may have dispelled it, but it still has a slim chance for tomorrow anyway. At this point, I would have a better chance rolling snake eyes than saying that we will a snowfall event for this upcoming week. I do not believe any model tun right now. Man, what ever happen to consistency in these model runs lately? It has to get better. I think alot of people are not posting now because they are fed up with these model runs saying a potential storm event within the 7-10 day time frame and ending up with jack crap. I am not a snow weenie- but like most of us --- a model wonk---- and want the models to be somewhat accurate. I welcome your comments
