Sitting at 22 right now up to 2 from 20. I wonder if the clouds associated with the clipper to our west is going to cap our lows from what they really could of been under clear skies....anyways, on the 0z euro tonight after the storm its just dry and cold with some flurries and snow showers around. A couple of disturbances slide off the mid atl coast but dont bring precip up any further north than southern va. Still a solid west based -nao throughout the whole run, pacific still has the goa low at hr 240.

Wxsim module for NW Chesco has a mix of IP/ZR starting at about 1am Sunday AM with 0.32" falling before temps rise above freezing at 7:30am. Rain (0.35") during the day and then a change back to snow at 6pm with around a 1/2 inch of snow accumulating

Saturday night: Mostly cloudy to cloudy in the evening, becoming cloudy after

midnight. A chance of a mix of freezing rain and sleet in the evening, then a

mix of freezing rain and rain likely after midnight. Low 29, but temperatures

rising after midnight. Wind east-southeast around 3 mph in the evening, becoming

7 mph after midnight. Chance of precipitation 70 percent. Precipitation (liquid

equivalent) mostly around half an inch. Little or no ice (on ground)

accumulation expected. Above-ground freezing rain accumulation up to 0.2 inches.

Sunday: Dense overcast. Patchy light fog in the afternoon. Rain likely in the

morning, then a mix of rain and snow likely in the afternoon. High 43. Wind

east-southeast around 12 mph, gusting to 18 mph, in the morning, becoming

southwest in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation 80 percent. Precipitation

(liquid equivalent) mostly around half an inch. No snow accumulation expected.

Sunday night: Cloudy in the evening, becoming partly cloudy after midnight.

Patchy light fog. A chance of a mix of snow and rain. Low 25. Wind

west-southwest around 12 mph. Chance of precipitation 30 percent. Precipitation

(liquid equivalent) mostly less than a tenth of an inch. No snow accumulation

expected.

Question for the mets, experienced staff.. How were the models able to under forecast the "strength" of this system? ANd what effects will this have upstream as the new storm takes place? I would think minimal, due to it's lack of intensity?
