Powerball
Might as well forget about convection this go around. It's peak heating (1 PM) and I'm still socked in stratus. My temps are just not getting to 70*F.

Indystorm
81/60 here with higher dews to my south pushing northward temporarily. Interesting low topped line of storms near Chi town might provide some spin ups this afternoon as Alek mentioned in the svr thread. Could see some heavy rain issues. That cell se of Rockford seems like it has been sitting there torever.
cyclone77
Coolest day since last weekend here today. Have only made it to 70 with all the clouds around. Still no precip though. We've only picked up 0.05" of rain so far this week. Originally this looked like a very wet week, but so far we've dodged almost all of it. Looks like a wet weekend coming up though. wisconsinwx
Horrible Spring! Not only is it horrible, but so hard to dress for the weather. I thought today would be hovering in the low 60s, and it is 50, overcast and cloudy. It's November-like out there. Not like I've never seen this before. Stevo6899
nice drenching here on the gfs and NAM for the next 3-4 days. Is it normal for la nina springs to be this cool, wet and up and down with the temps here in the midwest? I know spring usually has temp flunctuations but it just seems more than usual this year. Yes (in terms of the up and down temps). Last year was a strange La Nina because of how quickly it strengthened, it basically overwhelmed the other indices. hm8
Brief DTX update AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DETROIT/PONTIAC MI 1036 PM EDT FRI MAY 13 2011 .UPDATE... A MESO SCALE LOW DEVELOPED THIS EVENING IN THE VICINITY OF INGHAM AND LIVINGSTON COUNTIES. THIS LED TO A COMPLEX SET OF THUNDERSTORM CELL MERGES WHICH PRODUCED INTENSE RAINFALL OVER PORTIONS OF SHIAWASSEE...GENESEE...LIVINGSTON AND OAKLAND COUNTIES. MANY OF THESE STORMS PRODUCED QUITE A BIT OF HAIL AS WELL. THE STRONGEST OF WHICH OCCURRED BETWEEN THE VILLAGES OF GAINES AND BANCROFT WHERE SOME WIND DAMAGE WAS ALSO REPORTED. THESE STORMS HAD A RESERVOIR OF INSTABILITY /ML CAPE UP TO 1500 J/KG/ TO WORK WITH. LATEST MESO ANALYSES INDICATE MUCH LESS INSTABILITY. HOWEVER...LINGERING ELEVATED INSTABILITY ALONG WITH THE MESO LOW WHICH CONTINUES TO ROTATE OVER THE CENTRAL PORTIONS OF THE FORECAST AREA WILL CONTINUE TO LEAD TO LINGERING SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS INTO THE OVERNIGHT...MAINLY ALONG AND SOUTH OF THE I-69 CORRIDOR. A DECREASING TREND TO THE AREAL COVERAGE IS STILL EXPECTED HEADING INTO THE EARLY MORNING.
