Baro's pics remind me of a family vaca to the black hills back in the day. We drove up into the hills and noticed large white piles in shaded areas, i thought they were left over snow patches, but turns out it was leftovers from what must have been an epic hail storm.

The Black Hills get some really epic thunderstorms too--crazy slope flows and weird convergence zones where storms will anchor themselves and sit over the hills. The Black Hills are one of the most difficult areas to forecast for both in terms of winter and summer weather.

Almost never fails..the last day of torches the temperature always exceeds the mke office call by 5-10 degrees... Miserable 86/62 out there...on the bright side my fetish with no high temp for the day in the 70's since oct 20th of last yr continues on :sun:

And it's likely to continue for at least another week or two. Really an oddity, isn't it?

Next week you might be looking at a wicked plant and tree leaf killing freeze...Looks serious come Mon and Tue night. The dew points easily look mid 20's up your way. You'll have bare trees into July once the frozen leaves fall off. Let's hope not but it does look sh*tty for the next 2 weeks. Theme for summer I'm betting.

Dude you need to chill ^

LOL....so funny, I needed a good laugh before bed. The GFS showed some pretty cold air, and it's not out of the realm of possibility to see a freeze in WI. Really just a little radiational cooling with that dry air mass in place could bring temps down pretty good Sun and Mon night. But all in all this was a muggy air mass though, quite a shock considering how cool it's been, certainly caught me off guard.

You probably should change your pic then to be "in season".:)

Its all good. Your passionate about the weather like us all. Just remember that we are in La Nina and torches and cool down will be the story.

WOWzers .. Highs may struggle to hit the 60 degree mark for Monday & Tuesday. Even worse for those closer to Lake Huron in the Thumb.

It's not really uncommon to have highs in the 50s in May. If any day early next week ends up being an all day rain, it might struggle to hit 50F but that happens every now and then in May too. There's been some pretty nasty Memorial Day Weekends, so a cool stretch in mid to late May isn't that bad or uncommon.

I remember where it was barley 50 degrees on Mememorial weekend 2003. Overnight lows in the 30's and 40's.

Your right..I can remember such memorial days that were just straight up nasty chilly cold. 2001 memorial day was really chilly and rainy. Temps stuck in the 50s and stiff NE winds plowing in from the cool Lakes. I believe we were stuck under a nasty cut-off for most of the weekend..Funny because I remember that Summer being really warm and muggy too. So the cool downs and cut-offs shouldn't be the bible when it comes to a summer forecast. Basically its life living around the Great Lakes..Natural AC followed by Muggy Days/Nights.

People always ask me "when are we gonna warm up" I always tell them the same thing..."Its Michigan, not until July...lol" (not really true but it feels like that) lol

BTW.. 2003 was a crazy Spring/Summer. That was a chilly spring!! Blows this one & 2009 out of the water.
