Woooo HOOOOOO!!!!!! I just get mega-slammed. Best storm I've ever experience imby. 10 straight minutes of hail, with the biggest stones falling at the tail end; around golf ball size. Enough to coat the ground!!!! The winds when the storm arrived were 60+ easy. numerous limbs down in my yard and a tree across the road about 100 yds away. thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Cool did ya get pics or vids.......

glad you finally got your big storm! SPC has an alert for the surge coming east the next few hours.

Wonderful TS and still lightly raining here in the ATL. This picture was taken from the fifth floor at my office.

Not the greatest with my cell phone but you get the idea -- really low hanging clouds and a great vantage point

for watching the storms.

One discrete hail storm came up just east of the line south of Lenoir. Could become more severe if the convection west does not interfere.

Yeah, I think that's the same one that formed just North of Robert. It passed just to my west. I can currently hear the rumbles of thunder from it and see the clouds associated with it.

this line developing from eastern GA and the Upstate to the foothills of NC looks eerily similar to the big derecho event early April. Not sure what to expect here, but the line is starting to get that filled in look as it comes east of the mountains. I guess time will tell, but I certainly don't want any more 70 mph winds again...already had several episodes of that this season.

Forward speed doesn't seem all that great remains to be seen if it can hold together further east. You can definitely see the inflow off the Atlantic even on radar.

true. The southern end seems to moving faster, now the models hada slight neg. tilt...so it may begin putting on the brakes more, but also they handle the mountains' effects terribly here. Many times, lines outrun the RUC by over 200 miles, just a couple hours away from prog. Already has done this in fact. Its always amazing to see that occurence, I try to incorporate it in my fx.

Fantastic rain event so far in N GA. .98" so far here in Dahlonega. Much needed.

congrats on that . Looks like solid yellows, went fromlight greens, so north GA is getting it good. Hopefully we can get into something that widespread either tonight or tomorrow.

Sitting on the back porch waiting for the line to come into eastern Rutherford County. Winds are picking up a touch. Lots of CG lighting...

I think you may get clocked. the southern edge is racing faster than your area, so you'll probably get both a good line with high winds, then the training rain event tonight.

Each 6 minute increment of the nexrad has the line getting well formed, much like the early April event, but not that forward propgating speed, still a big deal though. The upstate is about to get clocked in the central sections as well below Spartanburg.

Ohhhhweeee, talk about your straight line winds! Man, when that line come through it was gusting 70 easy, and the biggest might have been more. That was like that derecho a few years back, only stronger. Man...not much rain, maybe a 1/4, but got the wind in spades!! T

Nice to see you adding to your May total, even if it was a little breezy

that line is rocketing from Spartanburg....will be here soon.

Just got off the phone with my brother in southern Sptg county...heck of a storm there. Winds, hail, rain...the whole nine yards. Just had a siren go off here in Fallston. Why, I have no idea, according to the radar.

the line is intensifying and getting wider as it spreads out of Spartanburg. Uggg don't like the looks of that line, esp. with reports of trees down in Spartanburg.

looks like that expanding northern edge could hit us. Can really see some impressive lightening on the horizon now.

Definitely gaining some momentum and lining up nicely now. Waiting and watching here at uncc
