Zeus
Here we go...wheeeee....it's coming hard If I had a nickel... Seriously though, it isn't quite winter without getting to watch you do your little dance of insanity. If only we could harness your optimism and turn it into something actually useful. The 12z NAM is fun. It makes me think I will see those flurries. **** yeah flurries.
CT Rain
I think the north shore is going to be very happy with this run. It's occluding pretty hardcore by 12z so I think we'll start to see a pretty miserable east/west gradient set up.
CoastalWx
congrats me, you and kgay? Not bad at all How funny would that be. We are all worried about 12/5 and this just sneaks up on us. The models did hint at this yesterday, but starting hinting at it more last night. That was part of the reason I mentioned later Saturday Night as something to watch from Maine. I still want to see the gfs and euro hop aboard, but the SREF also hinted at this. So far, interesting run of the NAM...but I want more of the others to come around. The euro isn't far off from the NAM, so I guess that's good.
weathafella
Nogaps flag FTW.... 75 hours with a light to moderate snow event for many of us.
Bryan
This run is looking pretty good for me up in Salem. Will believe it when I see a couple of more runs today saying the same thing. Knowing our luck, next run will have it going straight up through nova scotia skipping NE entirely.

If things shift back to a solution that's not so fun with the next few runs, disappointment is still relatively unreasonable. I'd still like to see better penetration, too, but hey, what else is new. weathafella
A snowy Sunday. My work friend from SF will be driving down from ME Saturday and we're supposed to have lunch in the Back Bay. Perfect (if this verifies)!

powderfreak
Here we go...wheeeee....it's coming hard Ray makes out like a bandit in this... Kevin is tipping his chair watching this dry up as it slowly backs through Mass.
Zeus
As usual, we wait for the others to role in..but not bad for you and I. I consider the NAM a more "volatile" model, especially at this range, but on the other hand, I think I prefer to have the NAM leading the charge as opposed to the GFS. I don't believe the Euro even exists. Never have.

weathafella
NAM snow graphics paint the 2 inch line including the eastern 2/3 of MA, NE RI. 4 inches at the coast but including PVC and all of Essex Cty. Large swaths of ME with 12+. Elephant...take that fatso!

CT Rain
NAM has the >0.5" from basically Wellfleet to Marblehead points east. Nasty winds too.

Typhoon Tip
Upon taking in the 12z NAM and comparing it to the 00z and 06z solutions, it almost appears what it is trying to do is a rare collocation of L/W nodal response to the -NAO, with an actual system - that seems to be why the system now 72-84 hours is pegging steadily SW in successive model cycles. Interesting to say the least - as is Central NE is clearly in with windy warn scenario, and NE mass is getting clipped on this run.
CT Rain
Let's try to move discussion of the 12/5 retro snow into a new thread... and keep this thread for threats beyond 12/5?
TalcottWx
Clearly looking like I might be shoveling next week! Even on the mildest runs I'm still hugging the 540 and 850 lines..

Its gonna snow. I'm thinking I may shovel on Sunday, along with E.MA. Kev and Ginx get their 1-2" they've been hoping for.
