weathafella
I think we are in reasonable shape. And I remind the date today is 11/30. Not bad and most years are worse prog wise.

weathafella
Jerry when are you going away, so we can plan for the next KU? 1/18-20. January thaw time. It never snows anymore when I'm away.
ski MRG
12/5 first widespread snows I agree with you for once although I think it will be 12/6. Models will come roaring back with exciting solutions within 48hrs. This period has been flagged for so long. Not surprising for them to spit out a few benign runs in this time range IMHO. moneypitmike
There's one more toll that needs to be paid. That's the monsoon that is about to ensue. First drops on the slopes, 39.6/34.
CoastalWx
Even for us coastal folks? Well it's always more difficult for you and I, but I don't think it's unreasonable given what I see. Perhaps it waits a few days past that. I do think it is possible we may see a brief mild spell around the 11th or 12th, but it's not a strong signal for it. I figure I paid that one at the beginning of the thread. Looking beyond but will enjoy tomorrow regardless of wx though for the 1st time in years, I'm working. CoastalWx
The end of the euro ensembles still look good. Weak nao block, but another dump of cold air into Canada, and some ridging over in the southwest US.

skierinvermont
The euro ensemble mean has a s/w in AZ/NM at hr 144 that the OP had off the CA coast. Much closer to a potential phase with the PJ. Wish I could see the members to see if any of them phase it in.

CoastalWx
same place that the Op UKMET had it...pretty strong one too. I noticed that as well. The ensemble mean is also closer (albeit still far offshore) with the second low near Nova Scotia...probably relating to that feature.

I swear the UKMET is the forgotten model sometimes...5 and 6 day verification is just behind the ECMWF and ahead of the GFS and GEM
