QUARTER SIZE HAIL...AND DESTRUCTIVE WINDS IN EXCESS OF 70 MPH.

THESE STORMS WERE LOCATED ALONG A LINE EXTENDING FROM 3 MILES EAST

OF NEW COLUMBIA TO LOWES...MOVING EAST AT 50 MPH. AT 249 PM...A WIND

GUST OF 79 MPH WAS MEASURED AT BARKLEY AIRPORT IN WEST PAUDCAH. AT

257 PM...AN OFF-DUTY METEOROLOGIST ESTIMATED 70 MPH WINDS AT LOURDES

HOSPITAL IN LONE OAK.

MILES NORTH OF METROPOLIS. SIGNFICANT DAMAGE HAS BEEN REPORTED IN

METROPOLIS. AT 256 PM CDT...WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR CONTINUED

TO INDICATE A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING A TORNADO.

THIS STORM WAS LOCATED OVER CENTRAL MASSAC COUNTY...MOVING EAST AT

50 MPH.

OVERSPREADING THE REGION FROM THE SRN PLAINS /PER WATER VAPOR

IMAGERY/. DESPITE PERSISTENT CLOUD COVER ACROSS THE WARM

SECTOR...TEMPERATURES HAVE HEATED INTO THE MID-UPPER 70S. AMPLE

LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE COMBINED WITH THE PRESENCE OF AN EML OVERHEAD HAS

YIELDED MLCAPE VALUES RANGING BETWEEN 1500-2500 J/KG...WITH LITTLE

TO NO CINH. SHORT TERM HI-RES MODEL GUIDANCE INDICATES AN UPSWING IN
