shaggy
I'm good. Had a very small weakly rotating wall cloud pass about half mile behind my house i'll have the video up in a bit. Concerned we haven't heard from ellinwood or Eyewall yet?
CAD_Wedge_NC
My oldest son lives in downtown Raleigh. The tornado just barely missed his location. Everyone in my family is safe.
wx4life
Here!!Missed the brunt of the storm.Other than some pretty gusty winds and a 10 minute downpour, everything is good!
VeronicaCorningstone
Here. Power finally back on after about 5 hours. Thankfully it just missed us by a little over half a mile, though some houses as close as 3 blocks away had some tree damage and there's a lot of debris (insulation, papers, etc.) that looks like it's from where the commercial areas got hit. All of our family in other areas that were hit are okay, which is the bright spot in this really awful day.

Solak
Checking in from Clayton - No damage in the immediate area. We were w/o power & water for about 10 hours. ... which was a very minor inconvenience compared to what I am now catching up on from the surrounding communities. Solak
Might be a while for some to check in. Per the Progress Energy website Outage Map 79K+ w/o power at 7:31AM update , 28K+ of those in Wake Co. Also from their website, The high winds have resulted in many downed power lines. Numerous transmission structures and lines are down, as well as power lines within communities across the utility’s service area. Crews are currently assessing damage across the system and assigning resources to the hardest hit locations.Due to damage that has occurred to several large transmission structures, some areas hardest hit by the tornadoes and severe weather may require multiple days to restore. Progress Energy's current focus is on assessing damage and prioritizing repairs, but will provide additional information on restoration times as it becomes available. SuperNET
Not sure why this system had a bulls-eye for Lowes stores....but the one in Monroe was slightly damaged and all of the outbuildings they sell with the exception of 2 were destroyed. I see that the Lowes in Sanford was demolished as well...big, big storm there that left Union county blew up.... I reported wind damage in 2 locations N of Monroe but all is well here..... I hope all is well with our friends to the east....

WNCwx
Nothing happened here in far western North Carolina. It seems most of our severe weather hits at night, when you can't see it coming. Glad that the storms didn't kill or injure as many as they could have.
