hoosierwx
I think the Springfield-Champaign-Effingham triangle is dandy. If anyone chases into Indiana, try to avoid the southern portion. We like to think of it as scenic.

BrentO
We like to think of it as scenic. Very scenic...........if you do happen to have to go through Evansville, take I-164 AROUND evansville .... DO NOT TAKE us41 through evansville, its stop light hell!!

Madmaxweather
Looks like we have a good shot of severe weather tomorrow night across the region. Were under a moderate risk but areas just to our west could be under a high risk. The Flip Camera may get its first workout of the season.

tornadotony
Nam want to break out prefrontal convection from S IL all the way into N MS This is why. And the diff. vort. adv. it shows, with a vort max (and a decent one at that) advecting out over the warm sector late afternoon, totally support it. cyclone77
Nice 60kt wind max at H5 punching into central Illinois at 00z NAM too. Doesn't look as backed at H5 either. It's the RUC and it's 24hrs out, but it's beefier with cape as you'd expect.

TheWeatherPimp
The models have been to strong with the cap for the past 3 systems - not surprising they are playing catch up with tomm's event.

snowlord81
21Z SREF Tornado Parameters The tiny area of 50 is almost on top of Hoosier, and about 40 miles to my west. Thats pretty incredible considering 50 was the max I believe that showed up in Alabama and NC on friday and saturdat. I just cant get a good feel for this event at all right now. Im on the verge of taking off work but I havent tipped the scale just yet. I need just a bit more motivation.

snowlord81
If we get a high risk maybe that will do it for you Im not sure what the chances of that happening are. This doesnt seem to be a clear cut event. It would def. persuade me though! Are you chasing tomorrow? Where are you thinking about heading? Hoosier, Is the NAM to far south for us? In my limited time of looking at that product, I've rarely seen the 50's not produce at all. Some have been prolific while others have been more tame. Some have been prolific while others have been more tame. Ive been looking at it since this time last year and your right, I cant remember seeing 50 at all last year. Only 40 or less and I believe it was the 40 contour that produced the tornadoes late one evening in Carroll County last year and all throughout Illinois.
