Wx4cast
I have installed the latest BUFKIT version that allows for plotting of wrf ensemble soundings. I get these files to download okay but when I go to look at them in BUFKIT the sations that I downloaded data for don't show up. Anyone else have this problem? Wx4cast
Where you getting the data from? I haven't been able to find that I got it to work. I'm getting it from the wdtb site directly: ensemblewrf If you have any questions just PM me and I'll help you out.
SDF_Wx
We're generating the SREF output for sites in IN, OH, KY, and TN. I'll post the links here in the next 24 hrs. We're not compressing it into the .buz format...we're just leaving them as .buf files. The Charleston, WV office has some SREF data in real time for E KY, SE OH, and WV. LocoAko
Oh man, this new ensemble support in the latest Bufkit is awesome! So glad I found out about this. Lots of potential for this.... Got my Bufget already set up with all the ewrf data for all the Northeast stations ready to go.

I just installed the new version and it shows the SREF files that I loaded from the NWS GRR bufkit data page, but I get a run time error. I sent an email to Ed mahoney at the WTDB to get further input and will post when he responds. I inquired about the Bufkit homepage map which shows the 1000 SREF data points asking how to get the scripts to load into Bufget.
jntkwx
I just installed the new version and it shows the SREF files that I loaded from the NWS GRR bufkit data page, but I get a run time error. I sent an email to Ed mahoney at the WTDB to get further input and will post when he responds. I inquired about the Bufkit homepage map which shows the 1000 SREF data points asking how to get the scripts to load into Bufget. I was getting a runtime error too, so I decided to empty the \data directory (I had 96 individual forecast files in there), restarted BufGet to redownload everything, started BufKit back up, and as is well. Perhaps that'll fix it for you. In regard to the SREF data, some NWS offices produce it, some don't yet. You can go to http://www.meteor.ia...data/index.html scroll down to the U.S. map, and click on a red CWA. If that NWS office produces SREF output, you'd find it there. Hope these help! nynjpaweather
Looks good but still tweaking WINE to get BUKFIT and BUFGET to run to optimal values on MAC.
binovc
I also get the runtime error 13 mismatch from the sref file at KGRR. Any idea's on a fix.
Tornado Girl
I've installed the latest version and it's up and running...but I am doing a little bit of tweaking. So far, I like the new version a lot.
dryadiabat
I also am getting the "run-time error 13: type mismatch" when trying to load SREF files from data source that SDF_Wx provided above. The SREF files from the Burlington or Raleigh offices work fine though. Any ideas? Anyone else having trouble with LMK's SREF files? Apparently, LMK also had the data available in .buz file extensions which I found by accident. These work fine for me, but unfortunately are out-of-date. ATL_Militarypolice
I also have a question regarding Bufkit profiles. Are there any WRF ensemble profiles for the southeast, and what are the time lagged NAM and GFS profiles, and where could I get them for the southern states. Thanks in advance. You can access about 1000 16-member WRF ensemble profiles here: http://wrfensemble.wdtb.noaa.gov/bufkitmapapp.html Find your favorite sites (there are about 250 in the Southeast) and paste the URL into the built-in "BufGet" . If your really interested in Bufkit ensemble profiles around the world there are: http://wrfensemble.wdtb.noaa.gov/asiamap.html and http://wrfensemble.wdtb.noaa.gov/europemap.html
SDF_Wx
Sorry to bring up an outdated conversation, but we have transitioned our SREF BUFKIT data back to .buz files. Our new BUFKIT webpage is here... http://www.crh.noaa.gov/lmk/?n=bufkit All the scripting has been double-checked and all the SREF .buz files are now updating properly.
