powderfreak Posted April 12, 2011 Share Posted April 12, 2011 Haha, I've seen that once on Mount Mansfield's grid-point. Anyone know if that is something the NWS has to put into the grids, or does it automatically call it Tropical Storm conditions when the forecast winds reach a certain speed? I would assume its something the computer program reads as tropical storm conditions as soon as winds reach that level, but if that was the case, then a lot of the higher elevations out in the western U.S. would show tropical or hurricane conditions a few times per week.
