It was damn close. But call them if you want to know for sure, the tornado is probably <2 blocks wide.

I lost their call while they were getting in their closet..I posted wondering if anyone knew anything about Rolesville...I'm sure their power is out and they do not have a cell phone.

Just drove around Sanford. Town is pretty much on lock down. Didnt attempt to get to the lowes area traffic is backed up for about 1-2 miles leading into the area where lowes is. Saw quite a few trees down around the county. Most of the eastern half of Lee County seems to be without power. Will try to get some pics in the morning.

The cell in Sampson county could be the one to make a run toward WeatherNC's area if it holds and manages to reach him.

Been tracking it for awhile, but yeah, it is pretty much on a beeline for G-Vegas based on extrapolation over the past couple hours...

My house is the red dot, new warning

Edit: Actually may pass to the west of Greenville, but going to be close, starting to here thunder, and lights have been flickering for the past hour or so, and we have underground power lines here, so that is from breaks in the grid pretty far away.

Hey man, I sat this one out as it just was too risky for me to go with no radar. Bozart is in wilson and as I was talking to him he saw some sort of small debris falling from the sky.

That one sup looks to cut Pitt county in half!

As a Severe Weather lover this is where I hate it, I'm deeply saddened by the fatalities. I'm so turned off by this storm.

I keep thinking of the Salt Lake City tornado. Raleigh just seemed so random despite the Tor Con index being a 7, it just seemed so unlikely.

Thank God, fantastic news brandon. I can't imagine how terrified he was. That is as close as you can get without being destroyed. Absolutely amazing.

Possible the tornado was off the ground when it went through the core of the city? havent heard anything between S. Saunders and Yonkers. Would be a relief if it did.

lots of damage near Shaw university being reported now on the south side of downtown
