Seems the time of year has come where I am not seeking out all your weather thoughts.. looking forward to finding them again for severe outbreaks, hurricanes, but mostly next winter

:drunk:

We did manage a coating of sloppy snow here yesterday before changeover

No torch here either. 55 and OVC... It has slipped back a couple degrees now.

It would appear that yesterday's very mild wx in western NY never got here and the boundary that set up didn't reach SNE in time to stop them from warming a lot today ahead of it.

But just a normal day here...no complaints. Forsythias are opening down the road I see.

My high so far this year has been 61F. Thought I would break it today. FAIL! Im at 57F and now slowly coasting downward with clouds and light rain showers. I have to go back and look but I don't ever think I have made it so far into a year with 61F being my high.

Always nice to get away. Gives you some perspective on your daily existence. I love travel but it's always nice to get home to your own bed/routine. However, after my latest trip to AK I find the landscape here so boring. Not sure how much longer I can stand living in tiny mountains.lol

Size queen?

What a 24 hour period. Woke up yesterday to snow, ended up with somewhere between 1 and 1.5 inches. Temperature dropping all morning from 37 to around 33. Then woke up to clearing skies and about 33 degrees at 7am. Hit 73 around 10:15. There's no other place like New England....Not gonna get great weather changes like that in Alaska.

Same feeling I get when I return from visiting my relatives in Bavaria - not far from the Alps. Nothing here in NY can come close to that awesomeness and they seem so affluent also around there compared to Upstate NY. But oh well...this is home and where I have roots, work etc. You can find tons of small gems in our hills, mountains etc. until the next big trip.

Might hit 70, maybe. Certainly doesnt qualify as a mega-torch. Looks to be a mostly cloudy week with some mild air on Tuesday. I got my ya yas out in AK so I'm ok with the transition to Spring. I'll be golfing, fishing, and playing tennis any chance I get. Looking forward to dinners on the screened porch and adding a new daughter in August. When is the next GTG? Seems like Julie the cruise director (aka. CTBlizz ) isn't doing her job pinning down a date.lol

You like to play tennis? Want to have a match sometime? I still play regularly after competing for four years on Varsity in HS.

I have to succumb to the indignities of Spring now I guess. I burned the torch of winter through all of April, but looking at the models it is most likely done..... Of course we could get a freak little snow in May and I'm "all in" if it happens, but probably time to throw in the towel unless something shows up on the models.....

I think we get some blocking early May but probably too little, too late at that point.

Although it's not the Andes (which I was fortunate enough to visit and hike a few years ago), I think Upstate NY is one of the prettiest places in the world, especially the Adirondacks. Just so much untamed, well-protected wilderness, such a perfect variety of seasons from vivid falls to frigid winters and lush springs/summers. Honestly, I believe the Northeast US is one of the best places to live in the world, and I wouldn't leave easily. And there's nothing like looking at this landscape that was devastated by logging and iron mining during the late 1800s and seeing how nature has returned, which is one of the most remarkable things about where we live: we're one of the few places in the world where the ecosystem is recovering, not being depleted.

WOW best easter ever!!

Mostly sunny down here all day, temps in the 70's just an incredible day, so glad the warmth has arrived! Looks like April will end up around +1-+2 for the month, just an incredible spring so far...........................

Didn't we have an Easter in the mid/late 70's where it was 85+? That would be more awesome for you maybe. LOL I recall an Easter recess from elementary school where we wore shorts all week and it was all 80's a few days over 90. Back then heat didn't bother me much.

56 was it here around noon... then it slowly dropped to current 49. A few light rain showers at times. No sunshine at all...though it brightened a bit during the morning.

I guess it reached 69F or so for a high here, but we were in the dreaded eastern part of the state (Wakefield) where it might have been a little warmer.

54.5F here attm

Yes, I like tennis. I've played for years. I used to play daily. Recently I haven't played as much as I would like but in the warm weather I play much more often. We could have a match but it might crush your ego when a man twice your age smokes you off the court.

This has a Blizz re-write written all over it.

perhaps tubes could pick a youngster of his choice? Our ages add up to over 90, and I'm happy to ruin another young ego.

59

sunny

looks like day two of 70+ temps with sun, weather sounds so disgusting up there, cloudy, no snow, and raw, slit your wrist type stuff.:axe:

I may never see the Sun again here (well, maybe on Friday)

I'm happy that you are getting enjoyable weather. My solar car project is on hold until the sun appears.
