weatherMA
Similar conditions here today but some thunderstorm cells have been moving through with occasional thunder&lightning as well as light rain. Temperature has dropped off suddenly to chilly values after a mild day... -RA 48/45 Looks like Tuesday/Wednesday they may actually have reason to complain while were stuck with 40s/50s and drizzle and south of us is warm sectored. But why complain on a nice day like today?
ski MRG
ya, this is fookin awful...last year i was on top of spring clean-up...this year, rhizomatous grass taking over all the gardens...haven't even gotten rid of the dead stuff from last season or raked any of the leaves...i'm not feelin it this year at all...still thinking about skiing Watch out or you'll end up like me. I never stop thinking about skiing. I'll just think about happier times toget me through the awful warmth.lol
OKpowdah
I'm writing a paper on the January 26-27 storm. I'm reading through some of the observation threads right now, and man it's exciting!! lol
Weather Girl 22
A little cloud to ground action just happened and knocked out my brothers tv and computer monitor for a second. Looks like a nasty cell in long island sound, just north of suffolk county. I heard some thunder to my south at about 10PM. I am in extreme northern Worcester county. ski MRG
45/43, -rn, one nice thing about this cool damp weather is it's perfect Spring fishing weather. To that end just walked down to the river and quickly coaxed a few freshly stocked, stupid rainbows into hitting. The natives and holdovers are more fun as they are tougher to entice. Still, cool to catch a few fish. Is it next Winter yet?
skierinvermont
We had some pretty good flooding from the rain two nights ago. A small river nearby flooded to what I'm guessing is about a once per year level, basically flooding all of the woods and just barely overtopping a section of road. My friend and I were going to kayak it but once we got there we decided it was just too dangerous. We kayak it a lot during smaller floods but the river was just out of control yesterday. It's got some sections with continuous moderate drops and when the water is flowing that fast the river gets pretty pushy and hard to maneuver. skierinvermont
Push back!! No adrenaline rush unless there's a bit of peril.lol Hehe peril is one thing but near-certain death is another water is an incredibly powerful, unpredictable and unnatural environment for people.. things can get out of control fast, it's very scary in that regard. I got an adrenaline rush just looking at it. I had a bit of an incident a couple weeks ago when I flipped in the middle of some fast flowing medium 2-3' drops and rapids right before a big 10 foot drop.. managed to get out of my boat (with difficulty) and grab onto a friend who pulled me to shore right before the big drop. Yeah, I was kidding really. Always best to listen to that voice in your head. I've done a lot of ww kayaking and you have to respect the water. I got biffed pretty hard on the White Salmon River in Oregon once. Learned my lesson the hard way.

Nice work!!..But you need to do the running outside. Treadmill running is not nearly the same as actually pounding the pavement. It's much easier on the treadmill

Logan11
So fresh and pleasant out there today. 38.5F and ovc at 11 AM. The low was 34F. Let the Midwest get ripped apart by storms again I guess...... My daffodil shoots are now a good 3 inches out of the ground. I noticed that a few hundred feet in elevation down from here their forsythias are starting to open. Yeah, I was kidding really. Always best to listen to that voice in your head. Logan11
Yeah unfortunately all our potential for April snow has been wasted this year with the NAO so useless and this generally -PNA. It's sort of surprising we have had as many chilly days given the signals. We have been on the southern edge of a beautiful chunk of April arctic air over Quebec, but no mechanism to use it with the NAO such that it is. Ripping s+ out in northeast Iowa and southwest Wisconsin right now.
