After the sleet it was just a lot of cold heavy rain here. It spiked from 37 to 45 overnight and then fell back down to 38 in a heavy wind swept squall this morning. Gotta love April. LOL OVC day now with a stiff wind and rebounded to 46F .

Bleh. Still have snow piles in the yard. A sad reminder of what was. If only Winter was a few months longer....

From a tree pollen allergy sufferers perspective...a several day torch to horrid levels like mid 80s could be just what the doctor ordered. Those kind of patterns out around May 1st tend to burst every lousy bud and bring instant leaf out. It is the best case scenario because you get all the different trees are over with fast. So yeah I'll root for an early heat wave for those reasons as long as it isn't foreshadowing the eventual summer pattern.

Nice torch on the Euro days 9-10..Bermuda high..70's and 80's

49/32, have had the same thing happen here. Looked like pl though a couple of grains looked white like graupel. Looks like more substantial returns incoming.

Yeah--it was white. At first I thought graupel or sleet. But when I saw the temp, I figured it was hail.

How's your fire doing? Just simmering here at this point. The big things I had put on there will likely be smoldering for the next couple of days.

49.4/31. Snow icon is on:)

The fire is a white hot heap right now with the remnants of a dozen huge sections of the big pine I took down. Threw in some gnarly rotten maple just for good measure. I like keeping it as hot as possible so there is little smoke. Starting to have a bit of mix precip right now.

I saw one here in Hubbardston on Thurs night.

Spent the day in southern RI. Drove through Bristol and Portsmouth and it was gorgeous in that area.

At my mom's house on the bay, the wind was rocking but it was very warm and pleasant unless you were right on the beach. She said they got a good amount of thunder last night and winds from the east, which is rare.

Elevated convection. That's how you get it with those east winds.

Never mind the kids with the crazy red faces, but DO note the snow on the northern faces of mountains in the northwest Berkshires this morning.

Still have patches of snow in the woods here and a nice pile left in the backyard. I've seen a few moose in the last couple weeks but oddly no bear yet, I usually see them by now.

A few weenie piles of snow along the most shaded roadway around here yesterday...may not have survived the deluge. Nothing left on my property.

There were very large plowed piles at our town dump last week @ 1400' and I imagine they will last to close to May.

God, this is boring. What the hell are we going to do for 6 months until snow threats return?

ya, this is fookin awful...last year i was on top of spring clean-up...this year, rhizomatous grass taking over all the gardens...haven't even gotten rid of the dead stuff from last season or raked any of the leaves...i'm not feelin it this year at all...still thinking about skiing

Still a few ugly piles left here and there...

Getting smaller and uglier each day.

I miss winter but will survive somehow

Major yard cleanup this week if the weather allows

We are much farther behind as far as greening up compared to where I spent the last few days

Lots of debris again this morning, did the reraking thing this PM, ground is soaked, rivers real high. Still not seeing sustained warmth yet but finally seeing spurts of buds and greening.

Congrats on all your complaining guys.

Upper 50s, cool breeze, and sun here today, made for some great spring wx. sun.gif

I even saw a few clouds which was the "severe" threat for today.

Similar conditions here today but some thunderstorm cells have been moving through with occasional thunder&lightning as well as light rain. Temperature has dropped off suddenly to chilly values after a mild day...
