High of 83 here in C-NJ (Monroe) one of the nicer easter's in recent memory. Some light rain and clouds now.

Yeah high of 83 here as well. Easter being so late this year definitely helped our chance for it being a nice day. IIRC, most of our recent ones were either raining or colder than normal.

Looks like a batch of storms coming in, nothing severe though.

John -- those cells in northern Mercer look pretty sexy; they're headed my way. Hopefully the Monmouth County T-storm shield doesn't rear its ugly head like usual.

Still 1000+j/kg of MUCAPE south of Staten Island...SBCAPE isn't bad either..over 750 joules as well. Shouldn't have a problem at least getting heavy rain and lightning/thunder given the good 0-6km bulk shear supporting updrafts..although it's less likely now that they will be boundary layer rooted.

That sucker's exploding to 60-65 dbz right now just as its entering Monmouth, maybe my first T-storm of the year here. We'll see.

Meh, it sucked. High gust of 22mph, hvy rain, some flashing, but only heard thunder twice the whole storm.

Managed to drop my temp to 64F, won't need the air tonight.

lol...pretty much the same here...but i hope this breaks the ice a bit for our area to get some good storms this year...last year it was all to our north and south.....i would think a line like this would have been a bit stronger say 3-4 weeks from now....but i could be wrong.

.63 of rain...has beena very wet april...

Yeah Tim, I hope so. It's still very early in the season, I usually don't expect a decent storm until June in our area, but I also don't expect much out of our T-storm season. Which is why I'm generally pretty disappointed when we have a crappy winter as the warm season certainly doesn't compensate in the excitement department. We've have a good T-storm summer come around about once every 5 years it seems, much less frequent than 12"+ snows recently.

Total rainfall was 0.41" here. 63/61 with a bit of mist now.

I do realize that a negative NAO swing is not the same in April or May as it would be in January or February, however, just looking at the long range GFS, the barrage of lows continues. If anything, that western Atlantic ridge shifts further offshore allowing the storm track to shift a tad further south.
