not too bad here. A little chilly but at least it's not raining (yet).

How is 40's is late April nice? Today is atrocious.

I woke up this morning to go fishing and Astoria was 38 degrees. And now at 2:30pm, we are 47 degrees!

Terrible.

Agreed. Slate gray overcast and 45F right now in Monmouth. Pretty much average temps...for early March.

Next week's temps definitely look warmer, but sunshine will still be an issue as it may be a "dirty" warm-up. Also the low level flow is far from ideal, winds SSWLY/SLY, so coastal NJ, LI and New England likely staying cool. The usual warm spots like PHL and interior NJ should hit 80 though, Tuesday or Wednesday.

:axe:

We really have to wait for Memorial Day or so around here to see real heat most years.

It's still in the low 50s in midtown. It was 54-55 a couple hours ago.

It's 48F right now in Central Park; the highest they've been today is 50F. That's about 12-13 degrees below average in terms of daytime temps for this time of year.

Out in my backyard, it looks and feels like winter right now other than buds on some trees and green grass.

FYI, someone in NW NJ reported sleet earlier this afternoon.

Yea I've noticed that right around me is usually 2-3 degrees warmer than the park during the day and sometimes 4-5 degrees warmer at night. Nothin but tall buildings and pavement around me.

That is crazy you only have buds on some trees. A lot of trees in the city are already pretty leafed out, but this has literally just happened in the past 3 or 4 days. Crazy how fast it occurred.

They're still skiing in Dobbs Ferry while you have late spring conditions. All within 20 miles. Amazing.

Yeah the UHI usually ends up making downtown NYC about 1 week ahead of me in the spring and 1 week behind w/ fall leaf-drop. Also has to do with tree type -- I have seen some that are very green with buds, but the vast majority in my area are still mainly bare, other than Bradford Pears and cherry blossoms, magnolias, and forsythias, the early bloomers.

Yeah, waters haven't warmed nearly enough to get things really going.

I've caught 14 stripers to 38" so far and dozens of shorts. Boat combined so far, over 50 stripers to 41".

Today was only off day because it was like February weather and we couldn't last.
