Yeah most of us thought that was a possibility. Could be 50s and 60s in most of eastern CT while areas west of Hartford get to 75.

any thoughts on tomorrow nights rain in BOS? Recieved tix to Sox game, 3rd base boxes. :pimp: Not really sure what to expect.

Tomato before the full moon in May, good luck

The last freeze around here is usually in mid-April.....there's a less than 10% chance of freezing temperatures here in Dobbs Ferry after May 2nd. 30% is April 24th...he's even closer to the coast than I am, so planting tomatoes around April 20th is almost completely safe. Also, a light frost doesn't do much damage to tomatoes, especially if you cover them with a sheet or spray them before a cold night. The main problem right now is that soil temperatures aren't warming very fast given the cloudy conditions and below average temperatures; I'd wait for the soil to warm up significantly before planting warm-weather crops. I've got cauliflower, carrots, peas, arugula, and Brussels sprouts in the ground already....green beans and squash seeds will go in around April 20th, then early May for hybrid tomato, eggplant and peppers that I buy as young plants from the nursery....finally the seedlings for heirloom tomatoes and eggplant that I'm growing inside should be ready mid-May. Right now I'm working on the soil by adding kelp, bone meal, and lots of manure.

Next ten days looks stunning..............

I think the bigger problem for the Boston area is how much mid level junk will be around during the morning and therefore, how quick low level stratus will burn off. If we had straight sun from early morning on...no question BOS would shoot through the 70s. I still think BOS beats 70F, but those 84F temps might be out of reach.

For those that backed off the warmth yesterday that appears to be a PHAIL..never use the NAM for backing off

AMOUT

TORCH is on. 80 at BDL

MANY REGIONS WILL LIKELY

SEE TEMPS APPROACH THE MID 70S WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF REACHING 80

IN SOME LOCALIZED SPOTS.

NAM just looks lost to me.

LOL..it's awful now..awful in the winter..just always awful.

Hard to believe Ryan is basing his forecast off of it.

He should have stuck with 80 tomorrow. BDL might even get above 80

I think it will be very hard for BDL to get to 80 with winds more southerly than westerly. Plus a lot of clouds around.

Yeah the NAM, as always, looks funny. But the GFS has cooled off quite a bit too.

Winds stay 180-200 or so on most models and when coupled with a lot of mid level junk clouds mean low-mid 70s for the warmer areas in SNE.

The clouds I think are the biggest problem. We were just talking about temps for BOS at work. Tough call, but I feel like once the sun comes out, temps will warm quick.

Can't believe it's going to be that warm down there. I'm thinking this torch talk is an elaborate hoax. You'd like it here, 40" OTG and wolves to eat any chipmunk up. Just was awakened by the eerie sound of a wolf pack. Went outside to take a leak and found they were VERY close.

48 hours ago the GFS and Euro have 1000-500mb tkns >570dm. Each run has backed off more and more. Between the clouds and a non-downsloping wind direction I think 75 is definitely possible for BDL and BOS but 80 is going to be really hard.
