bdr 56 lol, pour souls, 66 here 75 at dxr, a true gem!

nobody lives where they take that measurement at BDR (Sikorsky Airport)-what a joke-people think "oh, it's 56" in your area when we're always much much warmer than that this time of year...) 67 here right now with clear skies....nice stuff.

I bet the next HPC surface analysis will have popped the warm boundary up into S NH...

Am aware there are meso scaled cool pockets but you/these don't reflect what's going on in the bigger scope. If you are in SE CT, you're screwed - sorry, but that's not failure on the heat for the day because nuances/permutations of such natures will always exist in transitioning scenarios. Also, CC and Island and the immediate S Coast as behaving according to plan with this wind direction. Everyone else cooks for the rest of the afternoon.

FIT:

111752 CLR 10 73 54 1911 020 001 73 58

111652 BKN090 10 66 52 1709 037

That kind of wind veering and temperature jump is indicative of warm frontal passage, and this is pretty consistent for everyone NW of SE CT to PVD and event BOS, line. I bet many make 77-78 for a high, with 80 not out of the question. If FIT pops to 77 by 3PM, 80 is doable.

You think it will keep going up after 3PM in April? Cool... my son has practice tonight. Must remember plenty of water on the scorched ballfield

It can rise through 4:30 or so and then hold static... The twos may reflect a spike... Probably 77-78 is a good bet from what I am seeing. Mid 70s already pretty common S of the NH border.

KFIT is sorta like the CEF of N ORH county...

At least it will be short lived. Hopefully I can spread some grass seed when I can get home.

Big melting. Big, big melting.

Wow that's impressive for that elevation in the Berks!

And yes, big big melting has been going on the past 24-48 hours.

Still 24" on the ground at 1,500ft, but I can finally see our bridge we made last summer to get out to our snowstake.

Heading towards town the West Branch of the Little River is filling up with water almost before your eyes... its been rising visibly since this morning. This photo is from up near 1,200ft... compare the size of the river here with the below photos from 800ft down in the village...

This is down in town at 800ft... snow is swiftly getting taken down stream now...

Heavy, heavy melting.

47/47

Typical spring along the south coast. Fog has hung tough all day.... Visibility has been between 1/4 and 1/2 mile all day with a very light S to SW wind. High of 48 about an hour ago but the temp has slipped back down to 47.

I may be wrong but didn't I read a post from Ginx last week stating he was a bit concerned about fog today??? Spot on here in southern Westerly!!!

While the snow melting is in no way awesome, the photos every so often of the melting are great to see. If you can, keep us up to date until the last patch of snow is gone.

I've been keeping an eye on the snow in Bigelow Hollow over in Union. I was there on Saturday and happy at the amount of natural snow still there. A week ago it was almost like late winter but it was nice to see a fair amount still in SNE, if not near my back yard. Not sure how much will be left after today, but we'll see. I might take a ride over after work just to check on it. Outside of naturally lying snow, there's another place along Rte 32 where the town dumps snow but it doesn't get a lot of sun. I'm waiting to see how long that will be there.

Amazingly, there is still actual snow pack (not from piles) in the woods on the back side of winter hill in North Worcester. There's patches still holding on. The larger piles might make it until May.

Is that the weenie bowl area you described to me a couple of weeks ago?? LOL.

Yes, that little depression on the back side of the hill. It faces north too which is a plus. There's still some decent patches of 6-8" of snow in there from actual snow pack and not piles. I bet that northeast side of weenie ridge still looks like winter right now. I'll have to take a drive up there soon and get some pics. I'm always amazed at how long the snow holds on in these little "favored" areas...even on winter hill. I know some of the snow in those patches is from April 1 because I could see the "whiteness" of it and the crustier appearance of the snow underneath it.
