A-L-E-X
This would be the coldest December since December 2000 if GFS is right.... Wow, that was a long time ago lol. What about Dec 2003, wasnt that cold also? Im liking this to be a snowier version of Dec 2005, when we all get significant snow, not just the inland locations

A-L-E-X
No it isn't. I'm staying up for the Euro, even though I have to get up at 6:30 for school. Yeah this is the part I love most about winter (aside from the snow lol.)

Absolute Humidity
let the sleepless nights begin... hey, I better get used to it. My wife and I are expecting our first in January.. I'll be up all night anyways.. I hope January and February are stormy.... just not when my wife goes into labor please Ohh how I know that feeling, except my twins were born just a few hours before on of the best flash freezes I've seen. Jan 14 2006, 1:21 pm temp 68, kids are born. 6pm, temp 25 rain changes instantly to snow, 38 accidents reported on Garden State PKWY in 1 hr. My bro barely makes it hospital. 4 to 8" snow fall that night. Delimma, snow kids, radar kids, eastern or kids.... Well that's easy, kids. Good luck and Congrats, hope the good stuff hold off for you during delivery and the week before and after.

Ruining your sleep for college for a potential storm that's still a week away?? That's nutty, but of course most of us that love weather are on the nutty side. earthlight
Slightly encouraged to see the SREF members hinting that the GFS at 06z and especially 00z is way too slow to move out the big upper level low over the east.

First bit of good news I have heard in a couple days regarding this threat. Let's see if the SREFs can perform as well as they did two winters ago...
