There's a huge difference in temps over a much shorter distance - it's only 53F in Coney Island, Brooklyn and 58F in Fort Wadsworth in far southeastern Staten Island. Meanwhile, it's 84F on the North Shore of Staten Island:

yes, it is surprisingly humid.. I stepped outside and it almost feels a bit like a sauna out there.. When we torched last year around this time, did we have low humdity? I can't even remember anymore

Yep... using Weather Underground Archives for TTN, I found that the Average Humidity was 43%, and the DP was in the upper 40s.

The dewpoint would have to be quite low for the humidity to be like that of a sauna. ;)

It's too hot this sucks I want winter back.

I despite the eternity of a NYC summer with its endless days of haze, humidity, and muggy nights. Love my garden and cooking with fresh, local ingredients but otherwise loath the high summer.

Already longing for a crisp January day with a foot of snow on the ground and brisk NW winds. But everything in its time, and it is time for the warm season, unfortunately.

This weather is beautiful...anybody who wishes to have their bones and face frozen by 10 degree temperatures with a howling northwest wind might need to be checked for health.

High of 81.7F downtown after a low of 48.2F. Not loving the hazy, muggy air...don't mind warmth in spring but a crisp day would be appreciated.

Looks like the 18z GFS brings through about .6" rainfall from the cut-off low...

Cosign, I even can't function in winter weather let alone 10 degrees.

My weather station touched 80 briefly when the sun started peaking through, now there's a cool breeze (which was expected). We rarely get sea breezes after May though.

I rather have temps in the teens than temps in the 80's and 90's. I hate the heat and humidity. It is also more comfortable to sleep during the winter than it is during the summer.

I love snow...but there is nothing worse than a miserable winters day where it's 15 degrees the entire day, you have to literally dress in layers just to step outside, the wind freezes your face, and the sun sets at 4pm. Literally makes me want to crawl in a hole until spring.

Luckily, spring has just begun..and we have plenty of long, warm days...bbq's..and baseball ahead of us.
