ag3
what an economic hit the tristate will take because of over-reactive governors and mayors. This will be a bigger bust than March 2001 when she slides harmlessly east OTS. Im not saying its going to bust, but the overreacting is absurd. Especially Governor Christie. CALM DOWN! dbc
I have a feeling this will be the biggest hype in NYC history. Do you not comprehend that the wind and rain is not the real big deal here. It is the storm surge. I still think the wind will cause quite a bit of damage anyway even at a weak Cat 1 or strong TS but it is the surge that justifies the evacuation. This is not a noreaster, hurricanes have storm surge while noreasters do not pose near the threat of surge that hurricanes do.
TheTrials
Based on satellite, looks like storm is going staight into SC and not up the coast, bust.

Truth is according to Yoda she's gained .5 degrees N and .2 degrees W. The longer this continues the harder a turn shell have to make to avoid most of NC. And if that happens the harder shell have to turn to the NNW in order to come back closer to the coast up here again.
dbc
I wouldn't evacuate zone A and B. I would leave it at voluntary. Disagree. Dec 1992 did not mandatory evacuate and it was a disaster. This will be as bad or worse if the center takes a track up the Hudson river/through NYC/Brooklyn/Queens.

Well, Yoda probably is still seeing sidways from the beating the rangers took from the sox. That being said, its obvious she makes a complete landfall over the south east and won't get here. Billions of economic damage from a storm that never gets here. Terrible

Bridges will be closed when winds reach 50 mph I saw the news conference and the mayor specifically mentioned one of our board members. He said. "All Zone A residents and Zone B Rockaways MUST leave before 5 PM. Yes, this means you too, Noreaster27! I dont care if you think the wind is going to be like a gusty sea breeze! If you don't get out you will be clapped in iron and dragged off to Riker's Island, which BTW, WONT be evacuated because we want all the prisoner scum to drown!"
