Tulip Trouncer 5........The Comeback

This was about exactly what was expected for here. 2 maybe 3" tops. We even discussed it last night.

Oh I know: it was actually very well forecast, BOX was conservative and right on, and your concerns proved true.

"Disappointment" more in that there were hints we could bust higher (a sentiment that was echoed by many posters last evening), perhaps fired up by the overperformance in the canal area, the trend colder and qpf nuke in the 12z-18z American models. But we did not.

I've been surprised what I see around here in NE CT. Just got back from collecting sap at different places and elevations and it was really interesting. I think there was some different banding going on, even under short distances. Like I said, I had about 1" in Stafford Springs at 675'. My sugar bush in Union at 1200' had about 4"....Stafford at 1000' had about 2"...Somers (different from my folks) at 250' had about 1". My sugar house in the northern part of Somers had less than an 1" at 290'. Subtle differences, but I would have thought there would have been more of a elevation difference (which there was to some extent) but it seems like different bands might have played role around here. I do know that I had IP for a time overnight at my place in Stafford Springs.

2.3 at 1,000 feet in Tolland with snow..then a layer of sleet..then snow on top

Read zuckers comments. Nam and euro were both good signals.

There was a significant bust down here with manomet pulling in 4" per skywarn and in general 3-4" back from the water 500' north of the canal. I don't think any of us thought se MA had a shot of beating most of ct/ri and even Boston.

We got lucky here and had blistering precip rates that lacked later for most of you

They were just big 'ole fat flakes that piled up. Even the roads were covered last night with the intensity of the snow. Shocked to see that.

It was your typical snow event for this time of the year. Exact same set up 3 weeks earlier would have quadrupled our amounts but balls said the queen, if I had them I'd be king.

I had to leave around 6:40 this morning and roads were treacherous. Once you get to the Brookline Reservoir, much more snow. Coming back past Larz Anderson Park I note on the hill with what looks like around 4 inches while lower elevations 2ish. The storm actually overperformed since taint did not occur until after meaningful qpf was outta here. The problem is everyone remembers 97 and that's a once in a lifetime event that is akin to winning the lottery. Not so earlier in the season but for 4/1 yes.

I'm with dryslot. This is not going as well as planned for westen and southern maine.

The forecast ranges should be met. I don't see what the problem is. Unless there are a bunch of people who always expect the high end of the range to verify. It's absolutely ripping out there and I already have between 6 and 8 inches.

Were going to be saved from a disaster... the movement of the low east is turning echos westerly rather than just flying north now.. buying us time and more snow. Lets hope for a deform

Is that a deform band starting to set up from Berlin NH down through Lincoln and sw?

Yeah, no complaints from me. I'm loving it. Good storm for 4/1. Was hoping it might be a record-setter in PWM but I see the record is like 11" or so. Not happening.
