CoastalWx
yeah, I know what you mean. That's exactly it. That's what we had down here in the Jan 11/12 storm.
DomNH
In fairness, I didn't think the snow would be so wet and heavy. At 10:1, my 8-14'' would probably have verified. I was thinking 8-9:1 or something like that, but this stuff is lower.
CoastalWx
Keep in mind that you are talking to the same person who speaks like every hurricane in the Atlantic will turn into the next 1938...he just likes to poo-poo winter events and be a uber weenie on tropical systems. LOL so people didn't get a foot. My street got plowed and you probably have 7-8". How is that meh??
ORH_wxman
Got some nice pics a while ago...I have to crash now...looks like system is over for here except snow showers or light snow but I will post pics later.
TalcottWx
I doubt it...the dry air will make it here at least partially. Ugh... I'm not even going to see a foot after 1.2-1.5" was modeled lol

free_man
LOL so people didn't get a foot. My street got plowed and you probably have 7-8". How is that meh?? It's exactly what anyone reasonable thought would fall given the setup. A general 2-6", I'll admit had it been your 'hood, that is a bit more memorable. DomNH
Most beautiful scene of the winter/spring so far this morning, bar none. Anything and everything pasted outside. Opening Day is supposed to conjure up thoughts of Spring, warmth, and sun...but not today.

Damage In Tolland
Those mid level temp fears ending up working out down there. If that first batch didn't poo out...probably would have had a nice 4" event. That was my fear for your area. I realized that when doing my first and last call, but I thought you might eek out 4". Yeah..it could have been much better..I guess it must have sleeted for hours??? Oh well....for our last event..I'm happy..missed out on 100 inches and lost to Will ..lol
Cold Miser
Just shy of 2" for the event. Sleet change over happened about 11:00, but I don't think we ever went into full rain mode. Maybe 2" total if I count the sleet.
Damage In Tolland
Severe wx event for Wiz Monday night /Tuesday?
CoastalWx
Yeah..it could have been much better..I guess it must have sleeted for hours??? Oh well....for our last event..I'm happy..missed out on 100 inches and lost to Will ..lol Yeah it was the sleet. I didn't want to break your heart and go lower yesterday..lol. Hence the references to the lower range, but it's all good..I thought you could make 4-5" if we got everything organized quick enough. I still can't believe they got 3" down by the canal. Scott beat both you and I.
OSUmetstud
hard to tell what I got last night...probably somewhere between 1" and 2". It was 1.1" when I went to bed...but the pavement was more covered when I got up this morning. It's funny that on April 1st...BL problems weren't really harsh. We got down to 33 under light snow. That damn low didn't close off quick enough to allow stronger omegas and the 850mb warmth to stay south.
weatherwiz
Severe wx event for Wiz Monday night /Tuesday? Perhaps if I go down to the mid-Atlantic or the southeast.

mahk_webstah
Getting windy here and Travelanches abounding. That's good as it takes some snow off the branches. Still just moderate snow....probably up to 4 inches.
HoarfrostHubb
6.5" here so far... light to mod snow Sticking to everything but doubting it will cause shotgun blasts like Eksters 2" did Wife and son have no school... beotches!!! CapturedNature
Only about an 1" at 675' in Stafford Springs with S- ATTM. Looks like accums were pretty elevation dependent around here. I see that 1000' in Tolland had around 2.5" and Union has around 3". My folks in Somers at 290' said they only had a dusting. Time to collect sap...I'll see what else it's doing around the area. HoarfrostHubb
I didn't see anyone do that, but anything over 6" on 4/1 is pretty good man. I think I did...

Collinsville
1.8" new, all of that occurred after midnight. I never heard any sleet but there may have been a bit, just not enough heavier precip for better totals.

Baroclinic Zone
Wow, came home last night from dinner around 9pm to 2" on the ground and it was snowing steadily at that time. Looks like it snowed till around 11:15 last night. 2-3" for the event. Not bad, not bad at all. Expectations were less than 1/2". No way to get an official final measurement due to all the rain after.
