dan11295
Tip mentioned being colder upstairs, the DP's in Eastern MA were all 31-32 at 8pm. No question that unless something warms us up it will fall as snow.

HoarfrostHubb
There had better be no air pockets between the grass and snow, otherwise that total might be a bit too high! 40/70 Benchmark
S borderline S+ here in Ayer. 32.2/32 Uneven lawn and car-top accumulation to .5" Aggregates are not falling with fast fall speeds, lending to my thinking it is colder upstairs. This may have to wait for another night:

powderfreak
There had better be no air pockets between the grass and snow, otherwise that total might be a bit too high! Are we now measuring in a vacuum? Time and frequency of measurements are going to be huge in this storm. I bet we see some reports that vary widely even within the same town due to whether or not a person was clearing a board and adding values... or did they just stick a ruler in the snow when it stopped? Also did they measure literally when the snow was stopping or was it hours later after the temp rebounded back to 34-35F as deeper forcing moved out? I could see a situation where a bunch of co-ops report a trace in far SE MA at 12z observation time tomorrow as the 2-3" that fell in the past 90 minutes disappears overnight. Guess it'll depend on how diligent the official measurements are. Airport measurements for climo should be really interesting, too.
