I feel bad for southern NE, but the NAM is amazing for Maine

Some parts of southern New England had over five feet of snow in a month, and over six feet in a six week period. There's no reason to feel bad for us. I'd take a foot per week for six weeks even if the rest of the winter was torch city.

Akin to the crappy solution like last week. Disconnected disjointed but it was right a week ago doing the same thing.

Time to wait it out

Yeah real disjointed. The problem is going to be still the mid level lows are tracking awfully far west which warms things up too much across a lot of SNE. I think the areas closest to the mid level low track (Litchfield Co and the Berkshires) will do best.

There has been a lot of convection down along the Gulf Coast and Florida over the past 24 hours... not uncommon for convection to rob moisture transport further north. Hopefully this thing can at least get some of those good H85 u-wind anomalies into the interior if there's any hope for some of the large QPF progs from the past couple of days. If the greatest low level jet velocities skirt the coastline and move up into Maine, it'll be difficult to get that 1" of QPF back into ALB and BTV like some models were previously showing.

How about averaging a foot per week all winter long?

190" so far this season outside my office at 1,500ft. That's a foot per week for 16 weeks.

certainly could be. i was more just commenting on the run itself.

it hasn't had a good handle on the situation whatsoever for the past 3-4 days...and most of the winter for that matter lol. It initialized the southern shortwave incorrectly as I alluded to earlier. The Euro and it's ensembles are colder..and so was the 06z GFS...i'd go with that over the NAM any day of the week.

LOL LOL

BOX SNOWFALL MAP NOW SAYS NO SIG SNOWFALL FORECASTED ACROSS THE WHOLE AREA

WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY ISSUED FOR THE LOWER CT VALLEY FOR THREE TO FIVE INCHES

AND NOW THE NAM IS EAST BUT THERE IS NO BIG STORM

I THINK I WOULD SHOOT MYSELF IF I HAD TO FORECAST THIS STORM AS PART OF MY JOB LOL

LOL TO HOW THIS WHOLE THING HAS UNFOLDED THE PAST COUPLE OF DAYS AND IF THE NAM IS RIGHT IT IS THE PERFECT FU TO EVERYONE EXCEPT PARTS OF MAINE

Everything else east and colder and yet the NAM seems to be right according to some lol???

What will you do when the GFS ticks colder again? No jumping back on board

carrabassett valley is the place for april skiing. (yes, stowe too)

Haha, yeah we may not have any spring skiing this season... we're closing April 17th regardless of the fact that we'll be 100% open with a 3-9 foot natural base.

I love Sugarloaf... I think Mansfield is a pretty asthetically pleasing mountain, but Sugarloaf is like the end-all of sweet looking mountains. It was just begging for someone to put a ski area on it.

Slant sticker

Nahh, at Stowe we just measure in centimeters.

Don't think Springfield sees more than an inch out of this mess. Further up the line maybe 3-5 for Greenfield.
