Damage In Tolland
SPC 4km WRF (which has performed well from time to time this winter) really hammers ORH into extremem nrn CT. This goes w/o saying..but this is really going to be elevation dependant... I could see there being 3-6 inches difference in just 500 feet
MaineJayhawk
We can dream here in Portland right? Heavy snow in PWM. Don't be surprised if you're not upgraded to a warning this pm.
CoastalWx
Yeah 8-12 for ORH seems good. and 4-8 or 5-9 for here. Hard to go against Euro, Euro ens and RGEM...and now 6z GFS moves SE SREF's are probably biased due to time of year and the algorithm they use Yes this time of year could hurt the SREFs..I agree. My gut normally would think 1000' spots from you to Will would be ok, but your area is a little more dicey from 850-800. ORH looks good imo. Wx4cast
so you think Torrington/Winsted/Litchfield areas around 1k and higher can pull out a foot? Possibly..6-9 looks like a good bet IMO.

friedmators
What about the Concord/Bow, NH area? We are about 200' here at the power plant. Probably no different that being at sea level I guess. WSW for 8-15 here.

moneypitmike
What the hell is going on here? I could go for a 5 mile walk into the 6-14" warning zone but I don't even have an advisory... That said...2 predictions for tonight: 1. I think 4-8" is a good call for me at lower elevation. For Will I would go 6-12" probably. 2. Very little sleep for me This storm needs to over achieve here....it is my birthday today Happy birthday!

mattb65
You are right on the bottom part - 2-5" are possible in the inland CP but that just isn't a big event. It's a good event for April 1st, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't make up for the awful March. Reasonable expectations always win out. Of course we can hold out for 6-12" in Boston, which is not impossible I guess. Not looking good. At least we generally agree on the forecast

CoastalWx
Kevin, your area is very tricky. I wouldn't be shocked if you had 3" or 8-9..lol. Defintely not a high confidence forecast..even based on the euro. 06Z Canadian Regional is pretty warm.
Mr Torchey
You expected snow? All we got were those rain showers this morning. No snowgirl, I had a restless night sleep, I am rejoicing that its all rain here for the storm, but I am sad for our friends to the northeast, poor Kev does not even have a WWA. Oh well, I pray that CTHEAT comes back soon, especially given the torch next week.

moneypitmike
For ENY and WNE its all snow AOA 1K feet snowtools/ptype tools from ALL varied models support this. Below 1K feet precip will start as mostly rain maybe some wet snow but most snowtools indicate all snow here too but not until after Midnight. What's the best take on start time of precip regardless of type? 35.2/

ORH_wxman
I'm not sure either. It just looks weird. Advisory for HFD and nothing for you?? I usually follow the N ORH county headlines since I'm right on the line and the ridge I'm on is really an extension of the N ORH county ridge and I'm like 0.2 miles from the official line anyway, lol, but I'm still shocked they don't have adivsories for S ORH hills...those spots over 700 feet there are probably going to see pretty good snow. I cannot imagine they'd get less than 3-4", though I guess its possible.

OSUmetstud
I think eventually. The elevation would hurt you, even if mostly snow I think. I probably would have though maybe 2-4 or 3-6 for your area as of now..best guess. It's tough for lower interior spots. I mean it could absolutely rip and you pile fast at 32F or it could struggle to get to 33F and give you 6:1 ratios. Of course if the lift sucks or boundary layer is not that cold, then you'll be lucky for a couple of sloppy inches, but this is one of those days that deserves a wider range for snowfall. 2-6"..lol. thanks. subdude
Nice coating of graupel overnight here@ 2k. Only a dusting at 1400'.Glad to still have a snowpack as the snow will accumulate instantly. Looks and feels like snow. Poor BIrving has to troll Kevin in a failed attempt to distract from his awful "Winter was over in February" call. Lol Poor BIrving wallowing in 18" of cement tomorrow morning.

free_man
Poor BIrving wallowing in 18" of cement tomorrow morning. This is a 6" event here....big deal. NWS has 3-5 by point and click. I know exaggerating can be fun when you are trolling, but it's more effective when you are honest with everyone.
