powderfreak
For you WNE weenies: LOL Kev's gonna eat you alive. But that does look nice as long as the precipitation actually makes it back westward. SREFs continue to be favorable for WNE up into NNE.
dryslot
1st call was 10-14" yesterday, Final call is the same 10-14", Don't see any reason to change....

Avdave
Our area up thru Will and Ray all are in line for 10+ inches of snow on the Euro..so I'm not worried. They'll fix it later. You are truly the boards biggest winter wx weenie Kev.

Very good agreement on all model suites for very impressive deformation zone across Catskill to CD to SVT. Looks like potential too for some banding as well esp over WNE early Friday. klw
6z GFS just crapped a turd over N.VT into N.NH lol. Is "crapped a turd" a meteorological term and if so what does it mean? Does bad mean good or bad here?

moneypitmike
I last looked at this with 14 pages--came down to 55. Always a good--and daunting--sign. Looks like a nail-biter for many. Feeling pretty good out here. I notice BOX has not updated it's map. Probably wise given the narrow margin of error for much of the region. Agree they should at least have some type of advisory for much of the area. My warning has 6-14". Pretty large range. Hopefully the rain today will quickly go to snow--I imagine that'll be the determiner between low-end and high-end. Off to a rough start this morning--34.4/19. Ugh. Good luck everyone! free_man
FYE, a three-day time lapse of CTBlizzs dwindling expectations Mar 29th "Wow..buried with 2 feet all of interior SNE" Mar 28 "LOL..1-2 feet of heavy wet snow would cripple power for a week..including yours" Mar 29"Just excited for a big snow dump here. Fine 12-18 will suffice" Mar 30 "Well...this was all I needed to see . This is going to be a major hit for most of SNE away from the coast. WSW's should be flying by tomorrow morning for 10-16 of Deck Destroying snow" Mar 30 "Man am I feeling good..Ukie east, GFS east..GEFS east... I'm locking 8+ in Tolland" Hard to believe BOX has nothing issued here. Hopefully when the next shift shift comes on they realize the error. Someone who didn't follow the wx wold think Northern CT and ORH area would be getting no snow

powderfreak
Is "crapped a turd" a meteorological term and if so what does it mean? Does bad mean good or bad here? Haha its not the greatest... tracks of the H7 and H5 low remain good but moisture transport is lacking. It only has up to .5" QPF.

powderfreak
Only 2-6" for Will? Very hard to believe BOX doesn't have any statement at all for the ORH area. Point 'n Click for 748ft over the city (ORH) has 1-2" of snow. Usually I think Kevin is just a weenie about these things, but that forecast seems questionable... I'd think you'd want to have at least an Advisory for up to 6". That way you can adjust up or down if need-be.
weatherMA
What the hell is going on here? I could go for a 5 mile walk into the 6-14" warning zone but I don't even have an advisory... That said...2 predictions for tonight: 1. I think 4-8" is a good call for me at lower elevation. For Will I would go 6-12" probably. 2. Very little sleep for me This storm needs to over achieve here....it is my birthday today

They usually won't unless the average accumulation across the entire forecast zone meets the minimum criteria for an advisory (or a warning for that matter). Perhaps there are enough spots where they don't feel like criteria will be met so it drags down the average. Or it is simply just a mistake. ski MRG
Nice coating of graupel overnight here@ 2k. Only a dusting at 1400'.Glad to still have a snowpack as the snow will accumulate instantly. Cold Miser
lol - assumed "watch" to overnight "warning" FAIL. Instead I get watch to nada . . . zilch . . . zero. . . . Except, of course some good ole' fashioned April rain. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=be30cVizKco Although, again, this is what many were calling for earlier in the week. Congrats on that call.
