I think the one thing we'll need to see is a massive and uninterrupted stream of moisture coming up from BID tomorrow evening. If it's somehow disorganized or not that intense, then all bets are off. I just hope it's not a hundred mile wide arc of lift and then just disorganized crap behind it. The 00z euro and even gfs looked better in minimizing that, but that's where I could see a bust, especially given the position of the mid level lows...although the euro closes off H5 overhead which isn't all that bad. I feel like the GFS was a little weird with the QPF placement se of the Cape, but I kind of like that northward bulge in QPF into central mass that's depicted on the euro, during the early stages of the storm. I could see that.

This thing is going to be juiced...Dec '96 warm conveyor belt FTW.

Yeah, those people are a lot more responsible. Guns are probably a good thing down there. I'd like to see more gun control laws being applied to these gang thugs though...... they use their guns as a way of obtaining cheap thrills, it seems. I suspect most of them don't have licenses either.

I'm so glad I finished high school when I did...if I was in high school now I'd drop out.

I just can't believe that shooting...the kid is on a $125,000 bond...SERIOUSLY? Should be more than that.

The 223 gang is pathetic...they started when I was in high school...there was one day, this gang was on some other gangs turf in my town (which was like near the Hartford border) and they tried started a fight with people...using BBQ equipment, some other gang told these kids if they ever came on their turf again they'd kill them

Anyways sorry for the OT

I'm seriously going to try to go to Harwington tomorrow.

Gangsters are going to have guns regardless of laws. They do not play by the rules or laws. They will obtain guns illegally no matter what. When you have the threat of getting a shotgun stuck between your teeth while trying to break in, its probably for the better. That's what its like in Texas.

At any rate, I need 8.5" to get 100" and I think I'm definitely better than 50/50 to get that right now.

I think it will be a theta-e arc of moisture, but hopefully it's not moving out quicker than we thought. Subtle ticks east will hopefully materialize to minimize it. The euro was close to keeping the CCB near you.

I can live without the CCB if we get a 9 hour destructive WCB like we did in Dec '96. But we do have signs of getting at least a piece of the CCB as it collapses eastward.

Dude, people will get it no matter what. Just like drugs. We have a pretty good border control with lots of checkpoints, yet so many people are smuggled into this country. It will always happen, even if they try gun control.

Anyways OT.

It makes me wonder if the laws up here could use some retooling.... basically, you have law abiding citizens who are strictly gun controlled and gang thugs who are not-- hence the higher rates of violence. It should be the other way around.

I still think you, Kevin and Ray will all get to 100".... the Euro does usually verify a little too warm on surface temps .... I wouldn't be surprised if you all had double digit snowfalls out of this.

Anyways OT,

Only late night can we sometimes have OT stuff get in here, lol....otherwise I wipe it all out because of the volume. But as a quick OT related story...there was a home invasion in MA back in 1995 I believe and the perpetrator injured himself during the break in and actually sued the the home owners for injury...that is probably the most insane thing I've ever heard. In Texas they have what is called the "home and personal protection" law. Meaning you can never be charged for a crime if you injure someone breaking into your home. If someone enters your home, you can't be charged with murder if you kill them while protecting your family. But that doesn't apply in every state obviously as demonstrated by that ridiculous 1995 case. In MA you can be charged with that even if they are trying to kill you, lol. You are supposed to run out of your home or something.

Anyways, obviously OT, but this is late night...we used to dicsuss these random topics back in '07-'08 when nobody was on late and it was just me, Arnold, Ray and a few others.

Pretty sure Liar, Liar mentioned a case quite similar to the one you describe.

That's beyond ridiculous. This state blows me away sometimes. Look I'm not by any means an advocate of violence, but if you have a wife and family...you're dam right I will do what I need to do to protect. How the hell am I supposed to know that someone who broke into my house and is scaring the living sh*t out of me, is not going to hurt me. Gimme a break.

I think after this storm I am completely ready for severe wx season...ready for an active season...MAJORLY active...heavy, heavy severe. Last year CT had 5 2 tornadoes but it was listed as 5 because the same tornado touched down like 3 separate times...I bet we can top that this year.

Fixed.

OMG-- that's actually happened a few times in NY (that I know of) and it's rather silly. I remember another time hearing in the news that a guy breaking into a store actually fell through the ceiling (he was trying to break in from the roof I believe) and landed on a glass display and cut himself in a sensitive spot :P He ended up suing the store owner for the amount of his medical bills and actually won.

BTW I was recently presented with a scenario on an email mailing list where a person told me that if someone broke into your house and (for example) attempted to rape your daughter, that if you injure him while defending her, make sure he doesn't leave your house. If he does then he can claim you injured him elsewhere and it's basically your word against his. So I created a hypothetical scenario and asked what if we got into a fight and I pushed him out the window and he fell into the yard and was injured? I was told I had better drag him back inside the house before I called the cops LOL

AP aint for this side, but that's why I'm a neo conservative. Stuff like that. I'm liberal in other stuff like gay marriage and whatever else (people can live their lives like they want, i got no problem with that)...but I got a problem with people telling me I can't protect my family without consequences. At any rate, probably shouldn't get too more off topic here.

That supercell did recycle each time though...I agree it was rather sketchy but the duration between each touch down was just too long.

Despite that event though it still does not even come close to 7/10/89 or 7/3/97.

Were you in ORH in 7/3/97?

I was in ORH on 7/3/97, what do you want to know?

Yeah, I remember participating in many of those threads (including ones where Paul was talking about severe weather while he was getting hit or about to get hit with a snowstorm).... I enjoyed participating in those threads even though I didn't usually participate in the snow event haha.

Yeah, the fact is when most people are backed into a corner like that they will protect themselves and their family. It's only natural and reasonable for them to do so. The intruder? Well, he should have thought of that before he broke into the place.
