I personally think it's time to start getting serious about this storm..and not be cautious..this could be a life threatening situation

Over stated ... Even maximzing the 06z GFS would be a KU storm, probably less than historic. Certainly manageable by use of common sense.

Not life threatening.

Quick word of caution -

No model yet benefits from the denser sounding domain over land. The bulk...all actually, of the jet dynamics are over the NE Pacific as of 06z. One could argue that the 12z initializaiton this morning might get tickled, but really that is 00z onward tonight. As tempting as it may be to bite into a 06z GFS solution, there could be some significant adjustments by 12z Wednesday morning, despite the fact that we are only really 84-96 hours from whatever is going to unfold from this.

Or not - often enough however we do see system mophology upon final relay over land.

Send in da planes!

When does the energy start to get sampled? Weds?

Hahaha... in general, snowstorms are not "life-threatening" in New England. Unless you live in the plains or some place where white-outs are easy to attain and there are no services or help within 50 miles, snowstorms don't threaten your life here. There's always the caveat that unless you are pretty stupid you're life will not be threatened by snowfall in New England. Ice storms to me are a different beast, but people these days just aren't as impacted by snowstorms as they used to be.

True statement, I have not seen a snowstorm that was here yet..

I am prepared to die from this.
