In NJ, I suspect places like Butler, West Milford, Kinnelon, Sparta, etc will likely be crushed. However, elevation may play a key role and there may be wide differences in accumulations over short distances.

00Z RGEM in line with other model runs today.

The RGEM is a phenomenally good run for eastern NY into the Berkshires. Easily 12"+. Probably good snows down into the higher elevations of NWNJ, and SENY, and certainly the Pocs and Cats. Signal for high intensity precip keeps snow a possibility all the way to the coast, but it might have to wait until early morning Friday with a weakening CCB. I still think this will be primarily an elevation snowstorm, with most accumulations confined N&W of where the metro train lines reach.

I'm leaving Astoria tomorrow after lunch and heading to my weekend home on the Hardyston/Vernon border in Sussex County NJ to check it out. Although it is unlikely visions of the 2 feet I received during the April Fools storm of 1997 are dancing in my head. I would love to see 10 inches tomorrow night into Friday.

I think it is likely higher elevations of Sussex county see 6-12 inch amounts.

I'm heading to SUNY New Paltz on Saturday, so they should get it good. It'll be nice to see snow on the ground anywhere at this point.

SUNY New Paltz is at a pretty low elevation. Probably near or below 200ft. It's not a guarantee they'll get good snow there, although at least some accumulation is likely. But if you head west just a bit down the road toward Mohonk or Minnewaska, those areas should do great.

Yeah New Paltz has very little elevation.. Gotta head west of New Paltz to see any real elevation
