I think the farmer in the midwest are screwed this year. This wet pattern looks like (if you believe Lunberg) will run the month of May, more cool and wet. Pretty sad state of affairs occuring. I think catostraphic flooding is now going to take headlines. The farmers stand to loose it all this year. If they can'tm plant by mid May we are gonna get hit in the pocket book for produce. The year of no spring 2011...i am having my doubts about summer and the wet soil issue...well theres always next year hopefully, I just threw in the towel.

Ahhh just peaked at the Euro and it looks along like Thu that some nice ridging may be moving into the upper midwest with a dry up and a warmup...looks very good, may at least get to seasonal which is fine by me...eff the torch, just normal would be good enough.

Dude..You need to chill. Its only April!. Thats no different than crying "Snowless Winter" in November. It just always gets you burned. FWIW. Many of the Met Offices have put out summer forecasts and most if not almost all of them are signaling a NORMAL summer with regards to temps and precip. April 2001,2003,2007,2008,2009 all were crappy but (with the exception of 2009) we had nice Summers.

Just let things un-fold. Im doing you a favor and giving your towel back. Dont throw it until June 22nd only if needed.

Cold and rainy here today. Mid 40s and over a half inch of rain.

Similar here. Light rain and drizzle kept the temp in the 40s all day. This is the eight straight day with temps in the 40s or lower. My gauge only collected a small amount of rain until this evening when a cluster of thunderstorms blew up to my southwest and moved over the area. I missed out on the hail, as always, but several downpours got the rain total up to 0.70". April started out a bit dry, but five rain events in the last two weeks have each dropped a few to several tenths of an inch.

Mini t storm making a lot of noise for me at Elkhart now. 45 degrees......It seems I've had more t storms this year with temps in the 40's or upper 30's than I ever have had in my life.

Yeah, it's the same here. All my storms this year have been when the temp is 35-42F, including one three hours after 4" of snow and another with golf ball sized hail when i was only 42F. There was also a decent about of thundersnow earlier in the year.

This cold weather lately is really stunting the trees around here. We're now entering late April and there's still a large amount of trees that are still in the budding stage. A few species have small leaves that popped a few weeks ago, but have since stalled in their growth. Pretty unusual to see trees nearly bare as we enter late April around here. Last Tuesday I was surprised at how much of a difference there was in the trees in southern Illinois compared to back home. It looks like late May down there and up here it looks like March LOL.

Thankfully the most miserable 8 days in a row of weather that I can ever remember are on their way out.. If it wasn't one thing it was another to keep you shacked up in the house 90% of the time. I bet temps were stuck in the 30's and low 40's dam near 90% of the time also. Throw in 3" of rain and near 2" of snow and I doubt there is too many worst stretches of april 14th through the 22nd ever.

On track for a solid nice day in SEMI.:sun:

What a *bleepy* April so far. Then again I would rather have this garbage in April than in May or June. I guess we are paying are weather dues for something nice. What a hoot it would be if have just a beautiful Summer with an abundant amount of sunshine and pleasant temps.

med / long range GFS = puke

Yeah, that about sums it up.

What a miserable stretch of weather... Sun is finally coming out today, but it's only with us until tomorrow, and then we don't seen the sun again, until maybe Thursday. At least temps will be a bit better, near or above 60 all week long. Nonetheless, I am tired of the bare trees, stunted lawns, and general feeling that is more like November, than April. I can't remember a more miserable stretch of spring weather.

Storm potential for the next 7-10 days doesn't improve very much at all. At 180 on the GFS there is a 992mb low that goes through S. Canada, and looks to bring us some showers. Precip maps show .5" QPF, but a NW wind, and it looks like very little Gulf moisture interacting with this. It is just going to give us a cloudy, and rainy Saturday, but then, that is 7 days from now. Severe parameters are just not there at this point. Beyond that, there is another low that looks like it repeats the pattern of the last two, going over, or slightly south of N IL,/S WI. Long way off for both systems, but it looks like the pattern is in place for the forseeable future.

The weekly euro, which if verified...if, continues the misery all through the month of May, so more stunted growth, more Seattle sh*t weather and cold. Honestly even June looks pretty awefull according to the long range guys at accucrap, we shall see. But yes this is getting old and sadly the farmers stand to loose their shirts this growing season sadly, at a time when they need it most. Worst spring I can ever remember, certainly bolsters my wanting to move from the midwest. This is tough to take. Spring Cancel...nuff said.

I think you cancel spring like 5 times a week.
