thewxmann
yeah...iono the radar presentation isn't that convincing. A large low-hanging wall cloud may look like a large tornado from afar.

Thundersnow12
abc reporting this is coming from 1 unnamed spotter...nobody else is reporting anything edit: now even saying its a second hand report structure also looks weaker Ya it looks like as the meso occluded the gust front surged out a bit and new showers went up on that disrupting its inflow and weakening it considerably. David Reimer
Very intense circulation. I was on the phone with Brett Adair at the time this was near Cordova. He said it looks like he had a large wedge tornado on the ground (which he then reported on SN and called in).

Indystorm
Looks like that large tornado reported nw of Birmingham last night must have been a very low hanging wall cloud. Difficult to distinguish the two at night with only lightning flashes from a distance. No report to SPC as of yet.

Difficult to distinguish the two at night with only lightning flashes from a distance. No report to SPC as of yet. This is off 33/40's live coverage last night. I'm going to wait and see if a survey team goes out and confirms anything.
Indystorm
Yeah, David. I saw that image briefly on ABC 33 coverage as I was watching last night as well. Said to myself, Whoa! That looks like a tornado. But it wasn't there very long before a wall cloud reappeared. Brett certainly is a responsible and knowledgeable chaser. Will be interesting to see what NWS determines. AlabamaStormTrackers
Someone called in a large, wedge tornado report claiming to be us. This was untrue. We are working hard to find out who made the report and have this corrected with all of our media partners and such. The only report we made was on the Spotter Network and was of a possible tornado just north of our location on Cooridor-X.
