Well if anyone cares, I think the NWS didn't see today coming. There wasn't even a mention of precip for today and we have gotten a sprinkle or two just a little while ago with what looks to be more on the way for a few hours. It's been a while since I'v seen that happen with not one word mentioned about a chance of rain. To me it's not a huge deal, just thought it was interesting noaa whiffed on this.

Same thing happened in eastern Ohio / western PA 'cept it wasn't just a few sprinkles... it was strong thunderstorms with hail and continuous lightning! Of course, the forecast were updated when it became obvious that those storms weren't weakening, but the original forecast was dry.

NM I figured it out lol :)

I'm thinking the stationary front just of to the west may spark some very slow moving t-storms in the afternoon, I wish this board was more active during the summer days, I think all weather is fun to talk about! Should be interesting to see some rain reports for the next few days as this cutoff low just meanders around for almost a week.

Over here in Western Pa. it is getting very active.

We had strong storms last evening and today slow movers are popping up all around me.

A lot of thunder but no rain just yet.

i just checked radar and they are moving very slow...whoever gets stuck under one of those cells could get alot of rain.

I went to go check out the storm just to the NW of me and it is pouring! nothing at my house yet cause its virtually stalled and not moving anywhere. Someone is going to end up with 2" + just for this round.

I picked up 1.25 inches of rain from a thunderstorm in 25 minutes.

My neighbors had basement water as rain was just gushing thru our backyards.

2.33 inches total including a thunderstorm last night.

Still raining lightly.

It looks like storm are heading your way.

BTW...my wife used to live in Coudersport 20 years ago.

I used to travel around that area quite a bit back then.

Wow and just to think you still have 4-6 more days of slow moving storms to worry about. Yeah the storms are slowly crawling this way, but wow just heard reports of up to 4" or rain has fallen just 25 miles to the north of me! I bet your wife loved it there, its a very small area around here, but its beautiful around these parts and most of the people are quite friendly.

Total of 2.05" of rain since last night. About .75" fell in 20-25 minutes around 5:30 this evening, and then another .50" or so fell about an hour later in 20-30 minutes. Enough to send muddy water into the driveway and all across the road this evening. The driveway is a mess.

yeah its def been quite wet, we have recieved 3.03" of rain from this cutoff low since it began on Friday! Looking at some of the QPF forecast maps, I don't think central PA picks up much rain today. There looks to be a nice batch of precip tomorrow with some areas picking up another inch. Unless places receive heavy rain in a short amount of time, I don't think there is going to be any widespread flooding. Regardless, the next couple of days are going to be down right miserable, the weather doesn't look to improve until friday.

Unless you live in Lancaster, where the forecast for today has busted big time. We've had several hours of sunshine now, which was not predicted. Perhaps some boomers later?

yep, i'm decently excited later today for some decent boomers later...nothing severe but we are all the way up to 74...forecasted high was 70 and it's still rising. looks like initiation of the showers/storms is occurring now. will be interesting to see later if we can get a nice light show at least.

You guys are getting absolutely dumped on, numerous rescues on going in and around the City.

yeah it's really bad...my street still has standing water on it. Looks like were about to get raked with another slow mover in the next hour. could get real bad tonight if that thing drops another 1-2", local creeks and the conestoga were running high already today.
