There has been very few times where i was a little jittery of the weaher, at about 330-4 am was one of those moments. When i went o my daughters room early to make sure her windows were shut, she woke and said whats a matter, i said nothing why, she said, bull crap, i can see it on your face. lol

Ha!! I'm a nut - I woke up and went outside and sat in my garage with the door open watching. The wife, who also hails from Texas, joined me for a while. ;) It was worst around 4:15 - might've had tiny hail mixed in at that point but it was so small it wouldn't do any damage.

I must say, I'm not very impressed with how people around here (the weather guys) handle tornadoes. Tornadoes are completely random yet you can track them on radar a little - last night they were telling people 45 miles away to brace for tornadoes. I think that's irresponsible.

i normally enjoy a good storm, but i just had a bad feeling for some reason. I think it was the sounds, that made me antsy

I'll be curious to know when this is all over how many separate tornado warnings were issued for Lancaster county this morning. We have to be setting some sort of record.

I was telling a co-worker the same thing about Cumberland County. Early am i was getting a NWS text message like every 2 minutes.

Sounds like straight line winds in Palmyra. New 8 just pulled the info that the middle school roof was damaged, saying it's not true.

That just leaves a turned over truck and a collapsed second story of a single house.

Plus odd and end wires and trees down.

Also apparently the Peach Bottom Nuclear plant has used its sirens but that was to warn people of the tornado...not so sure thats such a good idea. I know if I heard a the meltdown siren I would want to get as far away from the plant asap. Even if it meant going out into the storm they were trying to warn me of. arrowheadsmiley.png

The sky is finally brightning to my northwest now.

Still, to me it looks like the overall area of rain down in MD and VA is actually expanding back westward as the individual storms within the whole batch race northeast.

it is brightning, but not so fast. What has caught my eye, is how rapidly the clouds are moving

Yeah, by 4:30 Friday it's as of now expected to hit 20'. This will be the third major flood event since March 25 for the Susky in HBG.

Also since 4 a.m. HBG emergency crews have responded to 150 separate calls.

Everyone in Lancaster City area and down toward Columbia, be safe right now.

I've lived in the Harrisburg area my entire life and I dont recall another instance of seeing Flash flooding to the extent of what I witnessed on my way to work this morning. It was surreal to see Paxton creek violently flowing across the roadway.. What a crazy April.

Several Lancaster County schools had kids in the hallways as a result of the warnings. I do not believe anything actually developed so just likely rotation within the storm cell.

It's a real catch 22 - over warn and get the chicken little syndrome or under warn and risk casualties.

For schools, that's best. But commentary-wise at 7 p.m. it's just not correct to me.

Just got word Cameron @ Paxton are closed in Harrisburg because the Norfolk-Southern rail lot got basically washed into the intersection. The car dealership there's underwater with a rail car in its parking lot. WTF.

My son's school in Red Lion wen through the tornado emergency plan twice this morning...Not fun being in Baltimore while he's up there.

Exactly. Schools around here were the same way. Meanwhile, I was here at work trying to keep my wife constantly updated on what was happening all the while my 4 kids were spread out across 3 different schools. No fun.

I hope so. Enough is enough. With all the warnings we had around my immediate area, sounds like reality was much worse in the metro Harrisburg area.

Yeah my prayers are with those who were affected. A huge reality. First time going through this in the 4 years we've lived up here. I think that's the first time he's actually been through the "real" drill in school...although it wasn't a drill...lol

I just saw possible EF-0 EF-1 damage in Lehman Twp Luzerne County. A witness said she saw a tornado around 5am lit up by lightning come through the Back Mountain area. Trees snapped off around 30 feet off the ground, hundreds of trees toppled in different directions. Path seemed to be 50-75 yards wide and 1/2 mile long. I did a live noon report on wnep and will be back live in that area at five and six tonight.
