Anyone seen that Storm Chasers show on Discovery?

I ask because those guys are parked down the street from my parents house in Texas today. They are in "extremely high" level criteria for tornadoes later today. Had 20 within 40 miles of them or something last night.

yeah i watch it every season.

It's not every day you see NWS wording like this, which is out of the Shreveport, La., station closest to my parents in East Texas.

Severe thunderstorms with a chance of "violent" tornados and large hail are expected to move across East Texas early afternoon, Shreveport National Weather Service officials said.

"We have a high risk of tornados, EF two or greater, with wind gusts up to 30 or 40 mph," NWS Meteorologist Bill Parker said.

Gotta love East Texas spring storms!

Well I have thunderstorms all around me but I haven't seen anything severe yet. Hopefully I can get more t-storm development just west of Dubois. Still haven't heard from anyone yet, but does anyone know where I can see a hail core radar like the experts have?

Your probably going have to pay for it. I'm unaware of any 3d programs that are offered for free.

The most widely used one seems to be the GRLx programs.

Hope they are safe, man. Hoping the best.

There is a nasty one hitting my house right now, has a definite hail core in it.

I just drove out into that one with my roommate. Got off at the Port Matilda exit and then got on 322W. A mile or so from the Port it began hailing, so I got off and stopped under an overpass. Hailed for about 5 minutes or so, mostly pea and dime sized stuff, a few as large as nickels. I think there may have been some slightly larger hail a little closer to Port Matilda. Really intense rainfall rates with it as well...much more than my wipers could handle. Storm looks really menacing from State College looking NE towards Bellefonte.

Looks like a mini-bow is trying to form just to the west of Port.

My neighbor said nickel with some quarters mixed in. Worst storm in a few years.

AND I MISSED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My roommate's girlfriend in Lock Haven said they had an intense storm early this evening. Hail, extremely intense rains, and some strong winds. Flooded the parking lot of her apartment complex and knocked down a large tree.

blahhh must be nice, I feel left out today, most of the severe storms just missed and I mean just like literally 5-10 miles. Although I can't complain, I'v already have had 2 storms produce hail for me this year eventhough they were just pea size to nickle I'l take it! I wonder how tomorrow is going to set up, looks like a fairly good shot at severe storms again :)

The church about 1/4 mile from my parents just had the steeple blown off and roof caved in. They've seen three tornadoes on the ground in the past 2 hours and a training line coming again.

Those storm chasers should have plenty of footage tonight - they've had upward of 15 different cells within a 60 mile radius apparently.

Quite an active day today, too bad I was at work all afternoon (non-meteo related). I've been hearing that Spruce Creek (far NW Huntingdon county) got hit pretty hard by I think the same cell that got Port Matilda with the hail. Many large trees downed in that area including one on a garage. That area didn't have any storm reports come from there since there seems to be a lack of weather spotters in Huntingdon County as a whole. The storm reports out of Lock Haven are pretty incredible.

My roommate showed me a short cell phone video his girlfriend sent him from Lock Haven. Incredible rainfall rates and wind...appeared that visibility was ~50-70ft and you could hear hail hitting the window.
