Itstrainingtime
Heavy rain again in Harrisburg........i sound like a broken record! Yeah, it was dumping down here a bit ago, too. I was shocked at how windy it was overnight, the whole house was shaking and it woke me up. Looks like our own tournament this weekend is about to go down the drain. First league game next Tuesday night doesn't look any better. Ugghh, this is just awful.

Ugghh, this is just awful. yeah, its getting out of control now. We only have a certain amount of time to get the games in before districts.. Rain has stopped now, but a peak of the sun would be great. I'm getting tired of my A-hole brother sending me weather forcasts and photos from Sunny FL. JSTWX
ECM first hinting at a upcoming torch. GFS starting to come around to the idea. I really like the looks of this....but .... I'm not too sure yet because of this: With a -nao, -ao and a +pna..... I have a hard time believing such a ridge and trough placement in the U.S. While it won't be cold, I don't see a huge torch either. The MJO is somewhat neutral for us, so there's no signal there for either direction. But we're getting there. The worst is behind us!

Do. Not. Want. I would have to think that it would be confined to Tioga-Potter eastward, and above 2kft. And only around daybreak. Shouldn't be a big deal at all. If this were February, we'd have a big messy storm on the way. And this last one would have been all snow!

MAG5035
Any mets have a guess on when precip will arrive on Saturday in Central/Eastern PA....first day of trout! First day of trout isn't looking great at all for sure, you def wanna plan on packing the rain gear. Up your way probably will be able to salvage a few hours in the morning before the rain moves in. A look at the 12z GFS and Euro/18z NAM/15z SREF shows that all are rock solid bringing in the front end of the rain shield right at 12z (8am) Sat morning, and then overspreading the rest of the area by the early afternoon lasting into Sat night. Sunday generally looks to be a much better day, but I would imagine the waterways are going to be raging. Speaking of which.. after how wet it has been I expect this system to draw an areawide or near areawide flood watch. Models are in pretty good agreement for a solid 1-2 inches and flood guidance is very low for some of the waterways.

I can't do it this year, but I prefer going Monday after first day. Have the water to yourself. I don't like first day, it's Amateur Hour. What convinced me was some guy brought his little kid to fish his first time ever on Opening Day. That was enough for me. he couldn't cast properly and was casting over people's lines, etc.

My family has a place and a private stretch of Spruce Creek and we'll have a bunch of family/friends down for the weekend. Regardless of how much of a washout it is, there will be plenty of food and beverages. It sure beats fighting the masses. The Little Juniata River upstream from where Spruce Creek dumps into it isn't too bad on the first day since its fairly big and there's plenty of space. Speaking of little kids, parents are def gonna wanna keep an eye on them with how high some of the local streams/small rivers are already without the impending rainstorm. For flooding concerns, i'm most concerned about the central counties. As per the flood guidance, the Little Juniata/Frankstown Branch Juniata, Penns Creek, and Aughwick Creek are the most vulnerable. Highlighted red the flood categories that could be attained without too much trouble given model QPF forecasts. Would probably watch the 3rd and 4th numbers the most (6 and 12 hour rainfall). : : Penns Creek...
