Cfa
It was hailing like 30 mins ago. Now it's thunder and crazy lightining, it may have been Winter-like in the AM but this is all Spring right now. There's no snow at all anywhere, I didn't see anything at all either when I went outside at like 12.
nzucker
Full thunderstorm with sleet for past 15mins. Non stop lightning and thunder. Awsome dynamics. Hopefully this bodes well for tonight....Radar looks as if it may fill in over NYC with that batch headed east from PA and some lighter precip already in the region. Sundog
This thunder sleet is very intense stuff. The thunder is ground shaking and the sleet (graupel maybe?) is just massive.

CoralRed
First post from me, who expected to be a lurker a lot longer than this: Downtown Jersey City Whatever's been coming down -- others say sleet, glad they know because it's not apparent looking out my window -- is slowing down. Last thunder and lightening over 10 minutes ago, I think. Somewhat murky out there right now. Just checked Wunderground.com and see big blob coming our way from East, directional arrows almost straight across. Yikes! OK and you all feel free to laugh whenever you want at my laymen's language, I am a nonweenie nonscientific bystander and won't ever attempt to hide it! Cfa
There's no precipitation just fairly intense lightning flashes and ground rumbling thunder occurring every 30-60 seconds. Car alarms keep going off. I'm in SE Queens. Edit: Now I hear ice hitting the window Edit #2: Now it's heavy rain with sleet/hail

nzucker
Now over to all snow here, sleet/graupel may be finished for the night. About .25" accumulation on the garbage can, roads are very slippery as they are coated with sleet and snow. 32.2/
